I have wanted to try this one for a long time, and I finally dropped the $10 at New Beer and went for it. Pours a fogged golden amber with a good bit of crème head. Nose is that grassy orange funk. Seems almost like a bit of mint is there. Hmmm. The flavor...there is that mint again. That is a new one for me in a saison. Definite fruit character there as well. Big sweet edge. I really get a mass of mint on this one. Seems very vibrant, possibly a bit too much so for a saison. But either way, this is a good saison. Feel is of course laden with bubble from a huge amount of carbonation. Liquid is pretty typical. Overall it is very drinkable. A bit too tangy IMO, but still a good saison.

from mesa gathering. pours on the orange side of gold with a fluffy white head. aroma is apple cider, sweet white flowers and alcohol. flavor borders sweet...honey, lavender/floral/honeysuckle, lemon, peppery yeast and an earthy funk. medium bodied with acidic-like carbonation. dry finish leaves some funkiness lingering in the aftertaste. very reminiscent of good champagne.

lots of lavender in both the aroma and flavor... still a touch on the sweet side but it is very well layered. rating stands.

Very hazy thick pour. Looks almost like pulpy grapefruit juice. Very spicy aroma with lots of flowery tones. Lots of herbs - oregano or basil or other Italian herbs. Spicy peppery taste with cardamom and clove. Lots of earthy tones with flowers and lavender. Hint of malt and bitter creamy finish. Very good, refreshing and unique beer.

Bottle cork and caged from BFC, thanks Jake! Cork explosion! Monster head on this bad boy... Nice light orange color. Light grassy, flower and yeasty nose. Taste is sweet flower with a touch of lavender...Lovely. But it still carries the good saison characteristics....dry, yeasty, light bitterness, and some spices. Texture is light, fluffy with a good carbonation level. Overalll a very unique and enjoyable beer. Thanks jake for the brew!

25.4 oz bottle vintage 2005. Slowly rising hazy straw yellow; big white head dies with veils of lace. Each pour adds drifts of foam. Fresh melon, rose hips, banana bread and lemon zest. Exquisite. Lemon tart with a pinch of grated lime peel. Flower petal finish. Just perfect carb with a smooth, rich body. Restrained floral; bracing with subtle complexity. A treat for all the senses. An outstanding saison!

Courtesy of tpd975. Pours deep deep mildly hazy gold with very thin white head. The aroma is pretty bold with candi sugar, dark fruity esters of hard candy cherries and prunes to go along with lots and lots of spices, some sweet honey and a hint of herbs. The taste has a solid bolt of sweetness going along with fresh picked rose pedals and honey. I also get tasty notes of spices and additional dark fruity esters. Lip smakin’ goodness.

75 cl. bottle. Plain yellow label on the bottle with no indication of the year or whether it was brewed at Sly Fox or the PH. At any rate, poured a hazy amber/light orange with a billowy head. Aroma of slightly sweet quickbread or poundcake malts laced with citrus and pollen notes, with some baking spices, lemon thyme, and a rustic funkiness like you’d sense from a barn door or corral railing. There is also some underlying buttery diacetyl, but nothing ruinous. Flavor of smooth honey-butter biscuit malts and orange zest, almost like an orange scone, with a backdrop of spices and fine herbs. A neat little fresh grass and citrusy hop package comes through at the end. After a while, the floral, herbal, and hoppy qualities compound on the palate, making this taste like some kind of liquified Swiss herbal-lemon-honey cough drop. Overall, however, its a nice little creative flavor showcase----delicate but assertive.

An unclear golden orange beer with a medium-sized mostly diminishing beige head. Summerflowers, ginger and cardamom in the aroma. Whiffs of caramel and mild fruit esters. Taste is light malty, floral and spicy with a nice fresh and dry fruitiness. Medium body. Crisp finish. A lovely Saison (Bottle @ RBNAG’07)
