2005 bottle. Copper pour with a beautiful, humongous rocky head, up there in the Duvel ranks. Lots of floral notes hinted in the aroma, but they really shine in the taste. It is brilliantly flowerly without being overbearing like Fantome Pissenlit (dandelions), and lets other saison flavors come through, including great spiciness and a nice maltiness.

2005 on cap, plain label as in picture so Southampton; 750ml bottle; nose of honey and spices; hazy light copper with a huge yellowish head; flavor is lightly tart with a minty and peppery note; finish is peppery then lightly tart. Very good saison; maybe Odeed would like this one!

An unclear golden orange beer with a medium-sized mostly diminishing beige head. Summerflowers, ginger and cardamom in the aroma. Whiffs of caramel and mild fruit esters. Taste is light malty, floral and spicy with a nice fresh and dry fruitiness. Medium body. Crisp finish. A lovely Saison (Bottle @ RBNAG’07)

75 cl. bottle. Plain yellow label on the bottle with no indication of the year or whether it was brewed at Sly Fox or the PH. At any rate, poured a hazy amber/light orange with a billowy head. Aroma of slightly sweet quickbread or poundcake malts laced with citrus and pollen notes, with some baking spices, lemon thyme, and a rustic funkiness like you’d sense from a barn door or corral railing. There is also some underlying buttery diacetyl, but nothing ruinous. Flavor of smooth honey-butter biscuit malts and orange zest, almost like an orange scone, with a backdrop of spices and fine herbs. A neat little fresh grass and citrusy hop package comes through at the end. After a while, the floral, herbal, and hoppy qualities compound on the palate, making this taste like some kind of liquified Swiss herbal-lemon-honey cough drop. Overall, however, its a nice little creative flavor showcase----delicate but assertive.

bottle.....appearance: muddled, non-transparent light brown almost golden with a fair amount of white head....aroma: huge on the citrus (orange, lemon) as well as flowers and other spices like cinammon, cloves, and i can’t think of what else right now.....taste: wheat/grainy, huge amount of citrus, more sweet and sugary with the aforementioned spices thrown into the mix....very nice indeed.

750 ml bottle - wow, big thanks to brandon for breaking this one out as its be on my WL for a while now; clear, straw yellow with minor carbonation; huge, floral aromas; sort of like sticking your face in a bouquet of flowers; more below the flowers and right in the stems; flavor is sharp at first sip, but drops quickly; interesting and tasty, but something kind of off to me; grassy, raw and lots of honey; almost mead-like in the flavors; light bodied, dry and mildly tart; i’m a little curious on the age of the bottle; thanks brandon!!

Bottle shared by theisti at his tasting 10/12. Pours a hazy gold with a thin white head and soap bubble lacing. My pour, which came from the last third of the bottle was much darker than the first two-thirds. The aroma is very nice: sour, peppery, floral, sweet and citric. There are more olfactory notes coming at me than I can adequately distinguish or detail here. The palate is medium-bodied and slick with a finish that is clean and dry at the swallow. Honey-like sweetness up front with notes of citrus, white pepper, yeast and flowers. This is a very tasty beer and is one that I will be looking for in the future.
