Hazy yellow-gold. Thick, dense white foam drops patchy lacework. Fragrantly airy and zesty floral aroma of lavender and tangy herbs. White pepper, bushy hops, and melon seed undertones. Carbonation is fluffier than it is creamy. Juicy body. Zesty mixture of flowers and sharp herbs. Alcohol intensifies, late, becoming quite spicy, enveloping the buttery herb components chased with a softening dab of vanilla bean and mandarin orange. Faint underattenuated candy sugar astringency clashes with the peppery yeast bite, perpetuating the unmasked [candy sugar] sweetness. Tender, but unfocused, malt display. Ends dry, spicily alcoholic, and sharply herbal with a smidge of leathery yeast, fennel, and soft flower petals. Overall, the alcohol here is less masked than the majority of their other medium-octane beers, the body is notably less creamy and lacks malt definition, and it’s fairly sweet. Otherwise, this is brilliant.

Pours a cloudy copper golden with a thick, frothy, well-lacing, white head. Aroma is full of rich bready Belgian malt, yeasty barnyard and a touch of citrus and pepper spice. Starts with a mild caramel sweetness, showing some tartness and yeasty flavor toward a semi-dry finish. A nicely balanced, and authenic-tasting, interesting brew. Thanks goldtwins!

Lively floral aroma. Slightly cloudy yellow. Flowery taste, with sweet kick in the finish. Very floral all around, almost overdone on this whole flower theme. Interesting. Rerate: Wow. So very floral and complex. Great body with perfect creaminess and carbonation. Fantastic stuff.

Thanks to hopdog. Pours a translucent golden with a smaller bubbly white head. Aroma was very floral, ginger, citrus and malty sweetness. Flavor of honey, malty sweetness, lots of spices, dry finish. Aged nicely.

2005 bottle: Pours a very cloudy orange body with a huge head. Aroma is like a garden. Herbs, flowers, spices and pepper come through. Finishes the same, quite tart and spicy. Very smooth peppery mouthfeel. Works well, quite enjoyable.

Hazy golden body with a thick, fluffy white head. The sweet, floral aroma is imidiately inticing. I have a difficult time discerning the varied elements of the nose--it’s not unlike walking into a cooler at a florist, but that is too simplistic. Mock orange blossoms, white pepper, spicy coriander, anise, coconut, light candy sugar, vanilla and probably many more things. The malt is present, but I think a bit understated, as to allow the flowers more room for influence. The body is creamy and well-rounded with just a bit of a spice kick at the finish. The flavor was, initially, quite unexpected based on the nose. The soft roundness of the candy sugar, complex floral elements, mild fruit and spice led me to believe it was going to be fruitier and more floral than it is. The sweetness really takes over in the flavor, dominating the elegant flowers and spicy yeast, which would have made this more interesting. The finish is long and rather warming for approximately 8% and isn’t as dry as I would like. In fact, over time, the alcohol becomes quite dominate. I’m still not real well versed in the complex art of aging, but I hope that given more time, the sweetness would dry up some, allowing the light fruit and varied flowers more room to grow. If that were the case, this would simply mindblowing.

Looks like apple juice. The aroma is all wild flowers and spice. The flavors was much the same with a bit of wild flower funk and some saison spice sneaking through. I would say it had a sweet finish as well. Overall very interesting stuff, but I probably wouldn’t seek it out again.

Rerate with age. Not sure how old. Plenty of carbonation, soapy white head. Strong ginger aroma. I still like this one. Very bubbly and acidic.
