| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 13, 2004 Cloudy golden with a fluffy white, lasting head and lacing that clings to the glass for dear life - musty, yeasty aroma, with tart, almost lambic-like hints of light fruits like apples and pears - flavor is tart and spicy up front, making way for lavender and other flowery flavors (go figure) - apples and white grapes - lingering malt and a finish with slight hops, spice and a just a hint of peaches way in the back as the finish fades - a quality saison, but, much like many of the other genius southampton brews, it takes a little getting used to before you appreciate it. beerguy101 (3940), Newark, California, USA

Aroma is spicy and floral, some lavender and chamomile. A medium bodied saison. Malts are fruity and sweet. Richly floral tasting. The flavors added really come through in the taste. A little funky and pretty sweet. Smooth taste. Yeasty and clean. Good balance. Nice carbonation. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 18, 2005 Gushing to slightly hazy orange beer with huge, collapsing dense off-white head. Unbelievably perfumey (natural), flowery nose, with hints of hops and diverse citrusfruit. The flower aroma’s - as some honey, and also some pharmaceutical notes, dried plants, etc. - are unmistakable. This is just great. Rather fiery taste with honey, caramel, flowers, citrusfruit, pineapple, glue, higher alcohols and esters. Firm sourishness, with underneath some restsweetness. Slighty peppery, ginger-y, but no real bitterness. Fiery MF, some alcohol obvious. Superb realisation. What I like most about this, is its originality. Saison gets a new meaning here. Nose of curry and lots of floral notes. The flavor is very herbal and tangy, cardamom like. Tasty and full flavored. I like the combination here. Finishes balanced and elegant. Great nose, Lemon, clove, honey...I don’t begin to know how to describe all the spices. What they say on the label, yeah. 1st pour was clean golden orange color with a big white fuffy head, 2cd pour was hazy with floaties. Bittersweet flavors, same as aromas with the clove/spice dominating. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, dry sweet finish. Nice brew, starting to enjoy the saison style Boutip (2368), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

Aroma of ester yeast and light spices with some very nice floral notes was very much enjoyable. Taste is a well balance mix between light and floral spices and a nice ester yeast all backup by some Belgian style malt and a medium dry hoppy finish. Body is quite full with some adequate carbonation and no alcohol was discernable. If somebody at told me this beer was from Dupont or Fantome, I would have had not problem believing it (which by the way is a great compliment coming from me). | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 2, 2007 Very cloudy dirty banana color. Very small white head. Ok, from the nose I get where the name comes from. Very floral, not in a floral hops kind-of-way. Very floral in a cute flowers kind-of-way. Roses, orchids and all kind of garden flowers. Leave a bottle opened at home and your girlfriend will walk in with a “Darling, you shouldn’t have!”. Well malted pillowy body. Honey, rosewater, grapefruit, a twist of lemon, grass. Taste is fortunately less perfumy than what the aroma hinted on. The flavours feel soft and light but the beer feels full. Very interesting.
