jbuzz (659), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Nov 19, 2009 Nice Corriander scent and taste. Light and still refreshing and bold. Nice white head. very smooth and complex. mcox90 (623), Wilton, USA Nov 16, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a small white head. Not an attractive beer. Spicy citrus nose with grain. Nice, easy drinking palate with a bit of tongue tingle. Rich wheat based flavor, jazzed up with Belgian yeast and citrus notes of orange peel and lemon zest. williamherbert (461), Syracuse, New York, USA Nov 8, 2009 The look is very thick and cloudy. Bright sunny yellow. No head but that may be my own fault. Looks sunny and refreshing.
Some spciy orange peel in the nose. Mild wheat base. Smell is mild overall but orange and Belgian spices dominate.
The taste has a spicy initial burst, then a more sweetish fruity flavor. As it warms, a pleasant puckery sour flavor comes out. Strong Belgian Ale spices; halfway between a Belgian ale and a witbier. Quite pleasant.
Feels fizzy but smooth. Juice-like feel on the way down. A nice spicy-sweet Belgian white ale. Easy drinking with a small bite. mikalooch (163), , New Jersey, USA Nov 8, 2009 Bottle. Pours a bright but hazy golden with very thin whtie head. Very faint aroma, mostly wheat with a little bit of peach. Flavor is wheat with an underlying citrus orange mixed with apparent corriander and other spices, very dry, finishes bitter. Very light on the palate, easy to drink. Good, definitely worth a try. tennessejed420 (73), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Oct 30, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy yellow gold with fizzy white head. Smells of fruity wheat, clementine, apricot. Sweet yeasty taste with fruity notes on finish. Maybe I’m just not into this style right now, but i don’t see why this one is so good - not that it’s bad or anything, very drinkable and tasty, just not anything extraordinary to me. Beaver (593), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Oct 29, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy dark yellow with a smallish white head that that quickly diminishes and leaves some lacing.
The aroma is spices, funky yeast, some banana and clove and some fruits.
The flavor is sweet lemony fruits and wheaty malts with a little yeastiness and some spices and soapiness. The mouthfeel is light bodied and slightly watery with spritzy carbonation.
Overall, a decent wit. I tend to like them sweet and fruity.
beerfest5 (148), Simsbury, Connecticut, USA Oct 26, 2009 really nice belgian white. i compare most to alagash, and this one was right up there. not bad spice content, not enough to contend w/ alagash, but decent. nice clean aftertase that warrants many more drinks. Teege (75), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 20, 2009 Draft at redlight redlight. Pours a light golden yellow. The nose is full of orange peel and coriander. Very floral. Lots of wheat in the flavor. An extra punch to the tradition Belgian white. Still crisp and refreshing. Good for summertime. Not boring at all.
