Pours a pale yellow semi-cloudy body, foamy creamy white head, good lacing, lasting. Aroma is spicy orange zest. Coriander maybe. Enticing. Dusty, musty. Somewhat effervescent. Lemony citrus light carbonation taste. Tasty and refreshing. yobdoog (1420), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Mar 25, 2009 Have had multiple times in bottles and draft. Lately on tap for happy hour. I feel this beer has changed over the past few years. More spice and sweetness now was more on the citrus side and more dry I feel. Pretty heavy on the spice, cloves and banana lately. Still pretty good. Trev (850), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA Mar 24, 2009 on tap Ginger Man NYC
pours hazy gold with aroma of wheat, light spice and yeast.
Didn’t get the orange slice out soon enough, slow server...
Strong citrus
Flavour was smooth wheat malt, good corriander spice tones lighter banana breadiness. ratman197 (3137), Arvada, Colorado, USA Mar 20, 2009 Bottle poured a hazy gold with a small diminishing white head. Aromas of wheat, yeast, light coriander and light citrus. Palate was medium bodfied and smooth. Flavors of wheat, yeast, coriander and light citrus with a smooth yeasty finish. Yet another disappoiuntment from Southampton. After all the talk I expected better from this brewer. morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Mar 19, 2009 Twelve ounce single bottle from Total Wine here in Jacksonville, Florida. It is spring time, kiss the ring bitches. The beer pours a nice light gold color with no head. Aroma is all banana and a bit of coriander. Taste is all yeast, bread and some sweetness. A very nice beer. warfield (17), Colorado, USA Mar 15, 2009 finally have southampton available in the colorado market. what is all the hype about with this wit? only positive is the price/ABV%. thejon375 (390), Tampa, Florida, USA Mar 13, 2009 Decent belgian white. Oranges and spice on the nose and palate, thick mouth feel. Overall a drinkable wit. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA Mar 13, 2009 Bottle. Pours slightly hazy yellowish with a short lived white head. Smell is atrocious with a ton of fake buttered popcorn like butter and just a hint of wheat and not much else. Taste is better than the smell with a nice crisp wheatiness, a bit of citrus and spice as well. Medium body and crisp carbonation, but there is a touch of butteriness to the flavor as well. The smell really kills an otherwise decent beer here.
