Soonah (900), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Feb 28, 2009 Poured a slightly hazy pale golden color with a dense white head that was slow to settle and produced good lacing. The aroma was light yeast, citrus, pepper and wheat. The flavor was a bit of citrus and wheat with some sweeter malt coming through. Not much pepper or bite to this one. Expected more from a double-wit. Mouthfeel wasn’t bad. Carbonation wasn’t too in your face. KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Feb 27, 2009 Bottle, listed as Publick House. Pours a dull, cloudy yellow with little head. Aroma is hollow plastic woody lemon with a sour coriander presence. Flavor is quickly-fading lemon coriander with a hint of cedar. Average mouthfeel. A boring beer that needs more pizazz. webbcreative (111), , Oklahoma, USA Feb 23, 2009 Pours a hazy golden color, has a one finger head. smells mostly of the spices. sorta has a belgian golden ale smell about it. And the taste im picking up the most is banana, but also getting the clove taste, and a touch of orange. but doesnt taste like a belgian golden ale which i thought it smelled like. Its actually not a bad brew, i could drink a few of these no problem. has a clean finish and is more mellow then i expected from a "double white" mrmojo (37), Edmond, Oklahoma, USA Feb 21, 2009 For this type of style - too much. Why do we want to push everything up.
Tried 2/13/09
Nose - Clove, spice and banana
Taste - very clovey and hints of pepper and watered down orange.
Decent color but had a muddled element that didn’t seem right.
Stay with a Hoegaarden if you want this style. changeup45 (782), Orlando, Florida, USA Feb 20, 2009 Updated: Sep 28, 2009Draft at Redlight. Hazy golden colored with a nice white head. Bananas and cloves dominate the flavor with some nice spices hitting mid palate and a finish that is mellow and a little light. I do like this one though. Would be an excellent choice on a nice warm Florida day. Re-rate, bottle. Hazy gold, thick white head that fades to a whispy layer. Coriander, bubblegum, wheat and spice. A little zing but also a touch thin. Was better on draft but still a solid beer for the hot Florida days. j12601 (1151), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA Feb 19, 2009 On tap at Bacchus. Pours a hazy opaque amber with a small white head which falls off rather quickly. Nose is bright citrus and yeast, with a bit of banana and clove. Sweet lemon on a smooth finely carbonated body. Clean light yeasty finish that zings the gums nicely. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Feb 16, 2009 Bright yellow orange in color and cloudy with a medium sized white head. Aroma is of citrus, peaches and a light tartness. Taste is slightly tart with peaches and orange peel. SamGamgee (1396), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Feb 15, 2009 Draught at RFD. Hazy gold with a small white head. Light aroma of some banana, orange, yeast, and grainy wheat. The flavor is like a sweet banana and orange creamsicle. Medium, creamy, almost fatty body. Enjoyable, but almost seems like a weizenbock more than a wit because the banana is so prominent.
