WELCOME BACK RATEBEER.COM sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Nov 20, 2008 Pours golden clear, white head.
Aroma, spicy and yeasty.
Taste, very sweet and thick. Loaded with nice flavors. Light spices (coriander) and citrus / orange notes.
This is just one amazing wit bier, double the taste, and you get just a full bodied beer. A little stronger than the average wit bier, but this one is extremely drinkable and enjoyable. djd07 (722), Houston, Texas, USA Nov 19, 2008 12oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow golden color with a small frothy white head that lasts awhile. The aroma is banana and spice. Good sticky lacing on the glass. The taste is a lemon zest and a very sweet finish. A very good Belgian White from Southampton. MaltOMeal (642), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA Nov 18, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours a pale, faded gold and turns into a muddy, creamy and cloudy goden color. A nice white head with great lacing. Smell is of spices and lemon. Taste is of spices, lemon and orange rind. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy. Pretty good for a wheat beer. saxo (3511), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark Nov 18, 2008 Bottle. Medium head with medium duration. Color is hazy pale golden. Aroma and taste are malt, citrus, straw and herbs. Light acidic. jhumphries69 (717), Tyrone, Georgia, USA Oct 26, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours opaque cloudy yellow/straw with medium white head. The aroma is like an herbal citrus tea: floral, lemongrass, touch of honey. The flavor has a mild residual sweetness that is delicate but notable and delicious. The flavor has lots of wheat and biscuit notes and a dry flour impression from flaked unmalted grains. There is an interesting floral quality to the ester profile. The finish is refreshing and somewhat sweet with a mild honey sweetness. Lemon zest and coriander are present throughout at medium intensity. The floral and sweet qualities are somewhat reminiscent of Unibroue’s Blanc de Chamblee (just somewhat). The mouthfeel is creamy with a full body. There are lots of suds but the crisp bubbles aren’t too much and don’t provide sting to the tongue - just right. Overall, this is a beautiful witbier. The strength is great enough for the beer to be obviously a ’’double’’ - but it provides enough extra punch to be more flavorful and delectable than most typical-strength witbiers. jtroop (1), Denver, USA does not count Oct 22, 2008 Not a fan of this style but this is yummy and hits the spot. Not much lingers and a lot agrees. Thumbs up.
