sayravai (3720), Helsinki, Finland May 21, 2008 (Bottled) Hazy golden with a small head. Witbier-saisony aroma with some sourness and honeyish pale malt. Flavor is something between Plevnan Panimosima, and Weihenstephaner Vitus. Honeyish malt, witbier spices, raisins. Medium-bodied, soft-carbonated. Funny, but quite enjoyable. Lacks complexity, though. tjthresh (1746), Greenfield, Indiana, USA May 18, 2008 On tap at Capone’s. Pour was murky yellow-orange with a dense white head . Thick lace. Strong coriander and citrus aroma. Tastes like orange and cilantro. A bit peppery and wheaty. Medium/full body. Average carbonation. Dry, slightly tart finish. FatPhil (3443), Espoo, Finland May 17, 2008 355ml bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki, Bitter and Sour 2008)
Ghastly incipid hazy creamed corn colour, flecked with particles more than actual haze. Healthy head. Spicy coriander and wheaty aroma - quite authentic Belgian wit. Zesty lemon taste. Some floury dough, but also an interesting hoppy and alcoholic punch. A bit sour too. JK54B (913), Helsinki, Finland May 16, 2008 Updated: May 26, 2008Cloudy, hay colour. Nice white head. Lots of lemon. Not too sour. Very nice and smooth beer. 0.355l bottle. KawaBomber (193), New Jersey, USA May 15, 2008 12oz Bottle: Cloudy golden w/ a large white head & nice tight lacing. Also some sediment lurking in the bottom of the glass. Aroma is of wheat, yeast, citrus & coriander. Flavor starts off slightly sour w/ orange peel kicking in big time then some lemon & a bit of coriander to finish it off. Finish is mildly dry & mouthfeel is creamy & smooth. gueuzeisgod (109), Graham, North Carolina, USA May 8, 2008 Updated: May 11, 2008Pours like a pils, was brilliantly clear, one finger stark-white head that collapses. Looked in the bottle to see the yeast sediment was firmly compacted on the bottom. Smells yeasty, lemony and sour. The taste is so much bigger than you would assume, great lactic-like(?) sourness, underlying hop bitters and good coriander/curacao spiciness. The first sip hit me like a ton of bricks, I wasn’t expecting that. It really is a ’double white’ - very skillfully brewed and downright delicious. Only downside is the collasping head, needs to be more proteiny and linger awhile. Do try it.
PWalk (337), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA May 8, 2008 Heavy yeast aroma when first poured producing a thick white pillow of foam on top. Standard witbier flavor and easy drinking. MrChopin (621), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA May 7, 2008 strong wheat scent with hints of of citrus. flavor follows. Actually, while beer is drinkable, it’s kind of uninspiring.
