ekstedt (2411), Göteborg, Sweden Mar 17, 2008 Bottle (35 cl), thanks rlgk. Cloudy pale golden, small white head. Spicy aroma with coriander and lemons, and some notes of honey. Medium bodied, ok mouthfeel. Good balance, dry with a tiny sweetness, and some acidity and bitterness. DocHop (278), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Mar 16, 2008 Reading other reviews I’m convinced I had a bad bottle, but here it goes... Smells of sour fruit, kind of sickening. Pours a hazy gold/yellow with a tall, foamy, white head that disappears quickly. Nice initial citrus, orange taste but it ends on a cringing sour note that is almost too much to stomach. Don’t know where they were going with this beer... I’m a fan of white ales and I was lost. gnoff (3559), Göteborg, Sweden Mar 16, 2008 (12 fl oz bottle, thanks to larsniclas!) On March 15, 2008. Shady yellow color, white head. Spicy, acidic, citrus, grassy, phenolic, malty scent. Acidic, yeasty, citrus taste. Spritzy mouthfeel, low bitterness. Goodgrief (1144), Middletown, Delaware, USA Mar 10, 2008 Sept. 2007 - Beer pours cloudy yellow, nice head and lacing. Well, for people who want a "Big" witbier, this is the one. Bold strong wheat base, sweet citrus, bubblegum and a lot of spices. An amplified version of a good witbier. It might have been a little too heavy for my likings (not refreshing like most wits), but a really good beer regardless. henrikb (1298), Aarhus, Denmark Mar 9, 2008 Hazy yellow body with a white head; Medium sized pleasant nose, could be a little more fresh, spicy with clear lemon behind; Balanced but a little to full and to bitter for a Wit; Long finish that has to much peel harshness. Not really god but definitely drinkable. valpoaj (362), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA Mar 8, 2008 Bottle courtesy Jah Noth - Thanks Dan! Pours an opaque orange color with a fluffy white head that settles into a thick film...lots of lacing throughout. Aroma is good, but not great...orangey and spicy, but there’s something musty about it, and not in a pleasant way. Flavor is similar to the flavor...there’s an abundance of orange and spice, and the flavor is very robust. I’m detecting a sour hint to this beer that differentiates this from other Wits as well. Can’t get by a metallic flavor that is mixed in as well...detracts somewhat. Good mouthfeel...easy to drink and a dry finish keeps you coming back for more...almost Berliner Weisse-like! Good Wit, but was hoping for a bit more!
Volgon (2487), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Mar 7, 2008 Bomber: Pours a cloudy orange with millions of tiny floaties and a fluffy white head, aroma has oranges, rich spices, lemons, starts and ends lightly bitter, velvet body, lightly sweet. The best witbier I have had. LyndaNova (492), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Mar 7, 2008 Cold 22oz bottle: Pours a yellow color inundated with micro-nuggetts and a creamy, fluffy alabaster head. Aroma is of coriander spice, light grains and orange peel. Taste is of light grains well blended with subtle bitterness, lemon, grass and spice. Smooth and light to medium bodied with ample carbonation. Ending is lightly malty and spicy with sweet notes. Thanks DirtyMike! :)
