Commercial Description:
A "double strength" version of classic Belgian-style "white" ale. A deceptively light ale spiced with Curacao Orange Peel and coriander seed.

Bottle from Ross (or his dad). Brewed and bottle in Saratoga Springs. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of white pepper, coriander, and belgian yeast. Medium bodied, but with a watery texture. Flavor starts off citrusy, and then transitions to a middle dominated by spices. However there is nothing but a weak malt backbone and little residual sweetness to counter the spices. Finish has a yogurt like sourness and lingering peppercorn flavor that are not harmonious. This is a DOUBLE white, where is the "double"? Even for a regular white, this is rather weak. This was so disappointing, that I would drink Blue Moon or Sam Adams over this any day.

A decent interpretation of a well loved style. I was just not feeling this as much as the ones I have recently sampled. Strong aroma of yeast with some citrus. Pour was a light gold and not the cloudy white I am used to in this style. Taste was more yeast and spice than anything else (and not much spice).A little lemon and corriander in the aftertaste. Making a "double strength" version of a beer that is supposed to be subtle seems to defeat the purpose to me.

Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma is of spices, lemon, citrus, floral hops, and some corriander. Flavor starts off with the lemon, citrus, and corriander that give way to the yeast and floral hops. A pretty decent belgian style brew.

Pours a very hazy golden yellow color with a small white head. I smelled lemons, orange, citrus, coriander and hops. Nice Witbier....mellow, yet with a biting aftertaste.

12 oz. bottle at Zeno’s, Penn State. Poured cloudy orange with thin white head that left splotches of lace. Lemony nose. Citrusy flavor with lemon and oranges evident. A nice surprise.

Hazy banana yellow and cloudy in the glass. Lasting white head and creamy appearance. Coriander and milky aromas. Some light banana citrus on the nose. Very creamy mounthfeel. Surprising sweetness up front. Middle of the palatefeatures bittering, sharp hops and hints of orange. Smooth finish. Very good witbier.

I only had the 12oz. version. Gold with a slow diminishing white head. Smells of noble hops and citrus. Very high carbination, effervescent. Initial sweetness that dries up very nicely, warming your throat its entire way down. Light hand on the spices makes this very easy to drink, not overly sweet and not at all astringent. I had the idea to brew a double white but I had no idea of the potential of this style. Awesome beer. I paired it with Vodka penne and it really brought out the coriandor in the flavor.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy straw color with a large white head. The aroma was strong dry spice and lemon. The flavor was dry, tangy and a little tart with noticeable coriander element and a tart lemony undertone. The finish is long, spicy and dry.
