holdenn (1431), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 7, 2006 22 oz bomber pours a dark orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma is very wit like, corriander, orange peel, citrus, yeasty and a little cheesy. Sweet orange citrus and sour flavors with that corriander and yeast spices in the back. Finishes tart and dry. The flavors are to sour almost infected, this quickly becomes too hard to drink, and basically too annoying to finish. PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Nov 6, 2006 Pours a cloudy yellowish golden with nice white head, which becomes lacing. Crisp aroma of wheat malt, oranges & a hint of coriander spice. Crisp wheat beer. Smooth wheat malt flavor with a light coriander touch, a bit of lemony acidity, and a subtle orange citrus aspect the whole way through. The flavor is crisp & light, yet the body and mouthfeel are pretty hearty. bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Nov 1, 2006 Poured a nice lighter golden color with good head and great lacing. Aroma was spices mostly coriander. Flavor jummped pepper citrus and coriander. Mouthfeel was light. good beer the spices did overwelm me. Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA Oct 31, 2006 Semi-dry and citrus aroma, tangy almost. Color is yellow-gold with a light white head. Taste is citrus, lemon, orange, some light hops and almost no malts. Ending is smooth though with some tang. Nice overall. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA Oct 27, 2006 From a 22 oz. bomber with no bottling date.
Poured a cloudy orangey blonde with frothy, foamy white head that settled into a thin sudsy lacing, small amount of sticking.
Aromas of orange zest and lemon peel, clove and coriander, spicy, honey wheaty and small whiffs of alcohol.
Good carbonation and a crisp, dry, creamy smooth medium bodied mouthfeel.
Great tasting, very quaffable, wheat malty with a touch of honey, sour orange with lemon peel, peppery clove, coriander, herbal with a soft grassiness, the alcohol is well masked, but provides a warming presence in the palate and a dry spicy, orangey and wheat malty finish.
This was better than what I thought it would, a good take on the style, well worth trying.
eaglefan538 (2351), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Oct 23, 2006 Poured a nice white-golden color, nice initial head, great lacing. The aroma was spicey, lots of coriander and caracao. Flavor was really spiced up front, coriander, pepper, caracao, orange, citrus. A little bit of off hay, must, or light funk after warming, quite nice. Alcohol completely undetectable. Light bodied, amazingly drinkable for a "double" wit, somewhat of a dry finish (from the pepper notes). Props for being unique, but too spicey. cbkschubert (1945), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA Oct 15, 2006 22 oz. bottle via trade with shadey - Pours a cloudy straw color with a small white head.
