Jblauvs (530), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA May 28, 2009 cloudy straw pour. Orange spice and some sherbert, coriander, subtle spice. Mouthfeel is fantastic, subtle smooth and creamy yet a little sharpness at the end from the carbonation. nice spice and orange zest. A very refreshing wit, with a suprising 6.8% abv which is very well hidden. ben4321 (957), Rockville, Maryland, USA May 28, 2009 Location: Draft from RFDs, 5/23/09
Aroma: Citrus, wheat, yeast, orange, sugary
Appearance: Hazy whitish gold color that is typical of this style
Flavor: Sweet, light spice, similar to the nose
Palate: Light-Medium body, pretty light considering the ABV
Overall Impression:
I thought this one was basically a better version (similar characteristics, just a done better) of a Hoegaarden. I liked it, but didn’t love it. Bigmmartin (366), Dayton, Ohio, USA May 26, 2009 On Tap at Chappy’s in Dayton. I really don’t like WItbier much, but this one wasn’t bad. It has a stronger flavor than others I’ve tried of the same style. But I just find most these fairly boring and too much like lemonade. However, like most, this beer is very refreshing and easy to drink. Some decent citrus flavors and slightly tangy. demdeac40 (238), Etowah, North Carolina, USA May 25, 2009 Pours a nice dark straw color with good carbonation and a big white head. Nose is bready yeast and wheat. A little spice and citrus but not really strong. Nice lemon and spice in the flavor followed by a nice mellow finish. JK (2945), Richfield, Minnesota, USA May 24, 2009 This is a good wit. White in color. Aroma has yeast, wheat, and coriander. Flavor has more coriander and wheat, with some sugar. A little citrus. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA May 22, 2009 Pours pale golden with a small white head. Strong aroma of sweet tropical fruit, yeast, citrus, white pepper, and coriander. Flavor follows the aroma quite well with with a bit of lemon zest, and a smoky burnt pepper finish. Palate is medium and velvety smooth despite the almost sharp carbonation. Fairly well-balanced and super easy drinking. glennmastrange (807), hobe sound, Florida, USA May 21, 2009 Bottle. Moderate malt, hop and yeast aromas of grain, grass, musty and cobwebs, with white wine and clove in the background. Head is almost non existing, with no lacing and is fully diminishing. Flavor starts light to moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and acidic. Palate is light to medium, watery and has a lively carbonation. Light and refreshing, a nice Belgian White. scrizzz (1250), kirkland, Washington, USA May 18, 2009 Updated: Jun 15, 2009Dry wheat aroma, touch of lemon rind. Hazy pale yellow, suspended sediment, moderate carbonation. Dense with wheat, becomes a bit cottony on the palate. Little notes of peach and apricot highlight the dry grain. Newer bottle has more coriander and lemon in the aroma
