Bottle: Pale straw, quite dull and cloudy, moderate foamy off-white head, superb lacing.   Floral breadiness on the nose, slight perfume and pepper, but nothing screams witbier.   I would go towards more of a Blonde with a hint of Witbier.   Someone soft yet dull spiced tongue.   Not really sharp like other witbiers.   Slightly floral, yeasty.   Again it seems more like a Blonde with hints of Witbier.   Moderate body, not sharp at all, with a medium mouthfeel.   Not bubbly at all, somewhat flat on the tongue on the finish.   Its not bad, but its actually quite boring.   Thanks for the bottle John!

Sampled at RBESG 2005.
Hazy golden, disappearing white head. Yeast and citrus aroma with some light spices and white pepper. Sharp citrusy and orangy flavor. Notes of yeast. Very unbalanced and not very tasty either, I can’t believe how overrated it is......

[395-20070702] Bottle (w/ jerc). Orange lemon zest aroma with a little spice. Hazy, light orange yellow body with a long-lasting creamy white head. Lightly burnt straw flavour with a sweetish aftertaste. Medium body. Quite a nice blend.

On tap at Falling Rock. I need to change it up a bit after a couple of Blind Pigs had numbed my mouth. This was a nice choice. Lovely hazy yellow, big white head. Great aroma - lots of spice, yeast, and even a touch of alcohol. Taste is terrific - exactly as described, a full flavoured and kicked up Wit. Really balanced well - spices, yeast, citrus, light carbonated body - all come together really well. Dry finish. Really good.

Appearance: Pours a lightly hazy, straw-colored body with a full, foamy, white head. Smell: Aroma of coriander and dried orange peel with a vague underlying maltiness. Taste: Delicate pale maltiness with a restrained honey-like sweetness. Strong spice component tasting of coriander, citrus peel, and white pepper. Low hop bitterness. Blip of acidity. Slightly sweet, slighty sour on the relatively crisp finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: I still feel the whole trend of doubling or imperializing witbiers is entirely lost on me, they don’t get twice as refreshing, quite the opposite, in fact.

Bottle: Courtesy of Shadey via trade. Aroma is a tad light. Contains lemon, wheat, and a hint of spice. Pours a cloudy dull yellow witha decent white head with good retention. Flavor has a nice tart lemon presence throughout. Some wheat is barely detectable. Finish has a nice combination of spice and bitterness. Very nice beer. Aroma is the only thing keeping this out of the 4’s for me.

Sampled inside FFF’s. :). Appearance was small particles floating in a murky light yellow body. A white head topped it off. Aroma was VERY spicy, apple, wheat, yeast, bubblegum, hint of sourness (not infected), oranges. Flavor is very spicy. Coriander, wheat, touch of sour apple, touch of bananas. This has to be one of the best Belgian’s I’ve ever sampled. Palate is sour, sweet, medium mouthfeel with good carbonation.

Bottle courtesy of dpjuart. First thing I thought of when I smelled this one was ’hot dog spices’. For whatever reason, this smelled like grilled hotdogs. Coriander, orange peel, bubblegum esters. Light smoked meats. Spicy and floral but a bit odd for the style. Light orange stuck in the nose, sweet. Pale yellow golden with mild haze. Thin white lacing head. Medium body with medium heavy carbonation. Starts with mild malt sweetness, lots of bubblegum and orange peel. Mild coriander and sweet spices. A bit watery but not a bad witbier. Has a bit more of a tripel profile in its sweetness than a wit.
