Commercial Description:
A "double strength" version of classic Belgian-style "white" ale. A deceptively light ale spiced with Curacao Orange Peel and coriander seed.

07.16.05 Sampled from bomber at BCTC. Thickly hazedd, near opaque pale straw. Fleeting head. aroma is spicy, weeds, corriander, bubblegum, some floral. Really spiced up flavor but plenty of body to keep the spices from settling out too much on the palate. Not much alcohol presence from a double ’anything’. It’s a shame to call it ’double’ because it would be a fantastic plain old wit.

Bottle. Aroma is grainy with orange peel and a dash of coriander. Cloudy yellow-golden with a foamy white head. Crisp, exciting mf on a fullish body flawed by a too-high abv. Nice spicy kick, sharp and attention-getting, more wheat and orange rind than coriander, which seems to be buried a bit. More lemony on the whole. Tart and tangy. Dry, floral finish and aftertaste. Fun enough as a one-off, but wits are supposed to be drinkable, quaffable - 12 oz and I’m done with this.

22 oz. bottle. Hazy, deep dull orange-yellow body. Fresh corainder and floral aroma. Clean and pleasant. Medium tartness and sweet for a wit, but that’s appropriate with this. This is perfectly sweet. Strong honey notes, with mild lime and mild bitterness. Very nice and better than expected.

Thanks to joebrew for sharing. Cloudy gold with a faint head. Crisp wheat with a nice sour characteristic offsetting the wheat.

Hazy yellow-orange body, thin-medium off-white head. Aroma of pear, honey, flower nectar, tangy wheat, and spice (coriander). Tangy wheat body with plenty of coriander and peppery notes, typical for the style. Medium-bodied, quite spicy. Above average. Thanks Dan (jah noth) for the trade!

Courtesy of Shadey <P> Nose is spicy and lemony with a good bit of malt base. Light gold/yellow in color with a firm white thumb thick head. Fore is malty sweet with lots iof wheaty/grainy notes, but it never gets allt he way formed as a bitter lemon peel/citric flavor always rushes in right as you start to explore that sweet malt side. Very bready at times. Very bitter lemon zest tasting at others. Quite refreshing yet also hearty and filling.

(bottle - 22 oz) Hazy sunlight yellow color with a very thin layer of white foam. Aroma is very spicy with lots of yeast and citrus. Very large amount of orange peel as well. Large amount of wheat and grains at the front of the flavor mixed with some coriander, orange zest, and yeast. Medium bodied and a very subtle flavor and decent carbonation. Very clean finish.
