| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 29, 2009 Clean straw blonde body with a light head. Nice coriander and light orange aromas. However the flavor demonstrates considerably more robustness. Strong coriander and orange peel across a full wheaty body. Much more agressive than its Belgian Witt brethren. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 13, 2005 Pale gold with a slight haze and bubbly white head. Aroma is super sweet whole kernel corn and the traditional Belgian Wit characteristics (lemon, coriander, pepper, etc.) Flavor reaffirms most aroma suspicions, drawing out lemon, orange zest, coriander, cloves, sourdough, pepper and vanilla. It’s like they hit on all the elements that ring my bell with this style. Bright on the palate; very lemony citric and effervescent. Cloves, indeed. Slick and sweet. Very citrusy. Big thanks to JCapriotti for sharing! ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 20, 2005 Bottled: Pours a cloudy golden body with almost no head. Aroma is citrus - lemons and oranges and also quite spicy. Flavor is the same. There’s quite a bit of bite here, but somehow it feels slightly watery. Cool idea, I think it worked well. sebletitje (1924), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 20, 2008 Pours golden clear, white head.
Aroma, spicy and yeasty.
Taste, very sweet and thick. Loaded with nice flavors. Light spices (coriander) and citrus / orange notes.
This is just one amazing wit bier, double the taste, and you get just a full bodied beer. A little stronger than the average wit bier, but this one is extremely drinkable and enjoyable. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 22, 2004 Cloudy yellow appearance. Taste is sour with lemons, bananas, and grapefruit. This is a good representation of a Belgian white, however I don't really seem to enjoy the style very much. DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 18, 2005 Bottle at RBESG Grand Tasting 05. Imperial Wit!! Whatever next! It’s just like a normal Wit for a start, but it just goes on and on. Dryer than a standard Belgian White, with the usual lemon and chalk. Good stuff, but no more than 20% bigger than a normal Wit. tronraner (1916), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 28, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours cloudy yellow with white head. The aroma is full of grass and coriander/cumin, with some fruity and yeasty qualities as well. The flavor is quite zesty with a decent blast of hay and grass. Gets spicier as it moves toward the finish. The spice, fruit, and yeast notes are pretty well balanced, at least far moreso than most examples of the style. This probably isn’t something I would drink often, but it’s a refreshing summer brew if nothing else. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
