Commercial Description:
A "double strength" version of classic Belgian-style "white" ale. A deceptively light ale spiced with Curacao Orange Peel and coriander seed.

A solid beer that was more impressive during initial tastings but whose character seems less distinct on recent samplings. I generally enjoy double whites, as they can be quite creative. This one’s a bit too dry and astringent, however, rather than simply being light. I enjoy the spice profile, but something about the brew seems insubstantial.

Bottle. No head, cloudy dark yellow color. Great aroma, lemon, grassy hops, corriander. Flavor is sweet and lemony. Mild bitterness underneath. Well balanced. Clean finish.

12 fl. oz. bottle, shared with neighbour Kjetil. Hazy yellow color, nice white head. Aroma is orange, yeast and wheat. Flavor is the same, with sourness and fruit. Complex and splendid wit-beer.

Wheaty, grainy aroma with lemon / orange citrus flesh and equally light coriander. Syrupy-sweet pale malt. Pretty simple flavor, a sweeter bolder wit with a stronger citrus element. Good mouthfeel. Thanks to Jason for hauling this back from NY!

Light and yeasty aroma with a mild dash of spice. Piss yellow color with little white head. More spice than fruit comes through in the taste along with yeast, and also has a lingering aftertaste.

Hazy golden of color with a white head. A fresh aroma of lemon, spice and sweets. A flavor of lemon, spice and a nice dry finish.

Hues of lemon and tangerine, it's lightly yeasty with a lot of saison, less coriander than is typical, broadened as it warmed, delicious, a bunch like an abbey. Lightly tangy throughout. The creaminess really kicks in as the cool effervescence ebbs with warming. A very tasty beer -- don't let the style on the label dissuade you!

22 oz bottle from John (jjpm74) Thanks! Pours out a cloudy yellow color with no head at all. Smell is sweet, orange, corriander, and somewhat spicy. Taste is very pronounced on the orange side. Spicy and refreshing. Pretty damn good stuff actually. I love this style too, and sadly not many brewers make decent witbiers. This is an exception to that though. Thanks!
