Picked up on a trip to Texas. Nice example of a Belgian White, but when I saw the word "double" I guess was was expecting something new and different. Should have checked on this more in advance. Good stuff, though... sweet, spicy, funky, orangey. What’d you expect?

Bottle. Aroma of coriander, orange peel, orange/citrus esters. Flavor similar, just a little less big and luscious. Exquisitely gulpable and refreshing. Very nice.

750 mL bottle, corked & caged (2004 version, less than a year old): pours with a generous white, fluffy head that slowly diminishes and eventually dies into nothing but thin, sparse patches. Starts off extremely clear, light gold – though the second addition of fluid yields a hazy/fuzzy body. Rich, fruity, spicy aromatics: buttered lemon rinds; soft, elegant yeast, melted bananas, and luscious pears. A velvety blanket of carbonation entices the soul and sooths the taste buds just in time for them to realize the wonders that surround: tart, green apple pie with a wonderful doughy crust, caramelized banana ice cream, and a dusting or coriander. A true winner and a great companion to the broccoli risotto and turkey piccata on Valentine’s Day.

White gold, a thick haze. A sprucy aroma of dry oregano and cloves. Sparkling hints of pears and apricots in a pungent collage of salty pimento olives and coriander kick. Simply stunning. Tastes of a seafood montage marinated in lime zest and vinegar. Cloves return again on the subtle wave of dry wheat. The zest of citrus oils arrives with a tropical guava punch toward the finish. A dusty fog of yeast settles comfortably in the mouth. Sophisticated palate, dry with a sour rub. This is one to ponder, displaying a genius for understatement that was entirely impossible to predict. Thanks Andrew!

ok now. This is the good. Hazy yellow beer with a fluffy white head. Light citrus aroma with some fresh bread. This beer is very much like bread that is fresh but is also with oranges and pie spice. It is not overly sweet and it is not overly good yet still remains to be quite good. Lively carbonation. You buy, you like hooray America!
