Very full-bodied strong white ale. Intense herbal aromas and tastes...works well and with the higher than normal alcohol content, lit leaves a nice warm aftertaste. I had the 12 oz bottle, I would have to assume the 22ox belgian style would be even more enjoyable. A great combination of tastes from, Southampton. Also notice some saison similarities, as a previous rater noted.

Bottle.

Pours a cloudy light-straw color, a bit of floating matter, with an attractive fluffy white head. Interesting aroma: slightly sour, lemon; grassy, some alcohol, lots of orange peel and coriander. The flavor kicks in hard: it’s got a powerful puckering dryness that comes on with a syrup-like intensity, big orange-peel flavor, much more bitter than other examples of the style, again that alcohol making itself known, lemon, coriander notable mostly late, with banana juice coming on strong at the same time.

Certainly an interesting beer and one that I’m very pleased to have tried. But for me it just doesn’t quite come together; it’s not light and refreshing enough for a Wit, the syrupy start and the strong banana close interfere with the powerful bitterness. Interesting...

In bottle, at Sadlack’s in Raleigh. Yellow, cloudy pour, with medium white head. Aroma of banana, with citrus, coriander, and other spices. Flavor is similar, with a strong yeastiness, and a nice tangy finish. However, the strong banana flavor and aaroma suggests more of a double hefe that a double witte.

Thanks kiefdog for the share. Pours a hazy straw yellow with a nice white head. Nose of orange peel, coriander, and grassy citrus. Flavor is similar with a sugary lemon presence and some peppery characteristics in mid-swallow. Floral, pleasant, and refreshing. Reminiscent of Weyerbacher White. Good stuff.
