Small white head leaves nice lacing. Aroma is spicy and lemony with coriander and white pepper. Yeast also noted. Smooth and velvety carbonation supports a lot of floral and herbal notes. Earthy yeast, pepper, orange peel, lemon, work well. Alcohol is hidden in the taste but you know it’s there after finishing the bottle. Really well done but the potency hurts drinkability. Retention in the head is quite low. Aroma is pretty strong. Vanilla pudding, wheat, tart, clove, orange, citrus, pretty appetizing overall. Taste is tart, tingly, light bodied, slightly bready with a sweet finish. Alcohol hidden very well. This is a successful brew and probably one of my favorites in the style. malrubius (1004), Valley Stream, New York, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 1, 2007 One of the first beers I actually purchased because of its RateBeer rating... Pours softly with a slightly less vigorous head than most other Wits I’ve had. The color is almost an ethereal golden honey... I’ve never seen quite this color in a beer before. Has good depth and classic Belgian Wit flavors, but, at the same time, a bit delicate; "Double" in this case is only an indicator of alcoholic strength, and nothing else. Definately a good wit... I’m not quite sure if I’d give it the extremely high ranking it currently has, but I’ll most likely pick up another 6 pack of this at some point. DrededBrethren (10), Palm, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 17, 2007 I only had the 12oz. version. Gold with a slow diminishing white head. Smells of noble hops and citrus. Very high carbination, effervescent. Initial sweetness that dries up very nicely, warming your throat its entire way down. Light hand on the spices makes this very easy to drink, not overly sweet and not at all astringent. I had the idea to brew a double white but I had no idea of the potential of this style. Awesome beer. I paired it with Vodka penne and it really brought out the coriandor in the flavor. cbeers21 (578), Miami, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 26, 2007 Hazy golden/blonde with nice fading head. Fruity spice aromas whisper hints of oranges, cloves, fruit punch and a touch of yeast. Well bodied with light touches of spice in back: clove, orange peel, berry, peach. A nice juicy beer wiuth a quiet peppery drying finish.
