The aroma is largely citrus and coriander. Taste is the same, though the beer is very smooth and balances these notes with some hops and malt at the end. A definite winner among witbiers. Looked in the bottle to see the yeast sediment was firmly compacted on the bottom. Smells yeasty, lemony and sour. The taste is so much bigger than you would assume, great lactic-like(?) sourness, underlying hop bitters and good coriander/curacao spiciness. The first sip hit me like a ton of bricks, I wasn’t expecting that. It really is a ’double white’ - very skillfully brewed and downright delicious. Only downside is the collasping head, needs to be more proteiny and linger awhile. Do try it.

It smells floral and citrus and wheaty all at once. Pours with a nice head that sticks around. Has a heavy citrus flavor as well and is well balanced for a white. A very smooth and refreshing beer. Up there as far as Whites go for me. mgoy (343), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA

Southampton Double White Ale is a cloudy, bleached-pale yellow color with an airy white colored head. The aroma has a complex wheat base, a touch of alcohol and a lot of citrus and lemon. The flavor is as complex as the aroma and has a great finish. This is a great strong Belgian White.
