Commercial Description:
A "double strength" version of classic Belgian-style "white" ale. A deceptively light ale spiced with Curacao Orange Peel and coriander seed.

Pours a pale hazy golden with a white head. Well balanced, enticing spicy and Belgian yeasty aroma. Body is mildly spicy and bitter, very dry and light in flavor. This seems like it would make a perfect refresher on a hot summer day. I don't know if I'd call it a double, because it seems more like a 1.5X, but still a very unique and enjoyable beer. Thanks to goldtwins for bringing this to the Atlanta gathering.

Spicy aroma, clove, corriander. Pours a golden blonde. Everything you could want in a Double Wit!

Comes out of the tap a bright honey yellow, cloudy to the point of opaqueness, with a little white head. Aroma is lemony and wheaty, inviting a taste. Well-rounded flavor is wheaty and pleasantly tart with a strong lemon overtone. Texture is bubbly and lively, and leaves a crisp and lemony aftertaste.

Poured a pale cloudy yellow with a generous white frothy head. The aroma was sweet, citrusy, definite orange, coriander, mild balanced funk, slight alcohol. Very appealing and balanced. The flavor shows alcohol, sweet oranges, spicy coriander, mild funk. Well balanced flavor as well. Shows very little carbonation on the palate, very smooth and silky not lively at all.

Draught at Brazen Head. Hazy gold colored with a dissolving white head. Initial aroma like a banana bread bomb, which mellowed to a light bread malty, lemony yeast scent. Citrus peel , spice and lemon notes permeate the off-sweet bready/cakey malt flavor. Smooth full body with lively carbonation. Pretty good.

Very nice cloudy yellow with a small head that laces the glass. Aroma is spices and citrus maybe orange peal. Flavor has the spice and orange with a very nice sour bite. Finishes very dry and crisp. Give me another.

Very full-bodied strong white ale. Intense herbal aromas and tastes...works well and with the higher than normal alcohol content, lit leaves a nice warm aftertaste. I had the 12 oz bottle, I would have to assume the 22ox belgian style would be even more enjoyable. A great combination of tastes from, Southampton. Also notice some saison similarities, as a previous rater noted.

22 oz. bottle from moejuck - thanks Joe! I wasn’t too excited about this one for some reason, but man did it sneak up on me. Poured hazy copper with a white head. Smell is white grapes, tangy orange juice, overripe cantaloupe, and yeast. The orange really comes through in the taste, along with pear, a bit of blueberry, some typical Belgian spicing, and a nice hop finish. Tastes light but the body has some heft to it. Overall, fruity, tasty, and pretty refreshing.
