Don’t get me wrong this one isn’t bad it just isn’t good because it’s just middle of the road flat. Flat aroma, flat palate and flat flavor. Poured a nice looking solid black with a fizzy small light beigie head that quickly disipated. Aroma is weak with slight notes of coffeee and a citrus chocolate under tone. Light to medium bodied with a watery finish and a slight bitter aftertaste. Not much of a flavor going on here, perhaps some chocolate malt....maybe a citrus hop hint here or there. This beer has some balls calling itself an Imperial Porter, perhaps Imperial Average Dark Beer would be beter, not even going to finish the bottle!! DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA

Aroma had some subtleties of chocolate and coffee. Loved drinking it. Look forward to trying Southampton’s Imperial Stout after having this. juiceisloose (671), Windermere, Florida, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 26, 2007 This was my first brew from these guys. Poured a deep black color with a thin tan head that receded quickly. Had a very nice aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, and nuts. The flavor was full of dark and sweet chocolate, coffee and roasted malts, some cream, and a hint of caramel and vanilla. There was a lot of flavors going on there. It was medium-full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and texture that went down nice and smooth. The sweet chocolate and toasted malts in the aftertaste leaves you wanting more after each sip. This was a great beer. I want to get some more from these guys. mribm (419), Hurley, New York, USA

It poured a dark black, with ruby hues when held to the light. The aroma was of chocolate and coffee. The flavor was a very interesting chocolate covered coffee flavored licorice?!?! I think this is probably the best porter I’ve ever had. I never heard of an imperial porter before, however this masterpiece deserves the title! redlight (1496), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 19, 2007 Thanks to Juiceisloose! Rich dark malts on the nose, hints of burnt chocolate and coffee. Pours black with no head. Solid roasted malts, burnt coffee, very creamy, then it turns to vanilla, and finishes with a creamy coffee flavor a little sweet like a cafe au lait. Great beer. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 10, 2007 Deep, dark mahogany body with a black center. Medium, light tan head that settles to a thin film with a prominent, frothy edge. Sudsy dots and snakes of lace are strewn about the glass. The aroma is smooth and roasty. Dark chocolate and toasted caramel malts comprise the base of the nose. Light molasses adds sweetness, while oatmeal and heavily creamed coffee add smoothing elements. The flavor is like a mocha milkshake with oaky vanilla and light caramel. Again, very smooth and easy to drink. Medium-full body with a slightly fizzy mouthfeel that just crosses the plain into overly carbonated. The lively palate is the only real flaw here. Very, very good beer.
