| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 10, 2007 Pours a three finger light tan head that fades slowly to a thin layer leaving a good lace. Nearly black color. Light carbonation and heavy bodied. Roasted chocolate nose. Flavor is roasted coffee/chocolate, clean finish, decent but expected a more intense flavor since it is an imperial porter. $4.90 for a 22oz bottle from Tully’s Beer and Wine Wells, ME. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 27, 2007 Pours a dark brown colour with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, and chocolate. Starts with a slow chocolate moving into a roasted coffee. Mild bitter hops on the palate. Carbonation matched perfectly with this brew. Great porter! | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 23, 2007 Pours an opaque deep brown with a dense, thick tan head. The initial scent is intensely roasty, with hints of milk chocolate, caramel and burnt coffee. The flavours are the same as found in the nose, chocolate, caramel, and coffee. The booze is hidden insanly well. I wish that the body was a bit chewyer though. This wasn’t as full-bodied as I had hoped, but this shiz still rocks. BigBen2120 (688), Derry, New Hampshire, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jul 23, 2007 22oz bomber from Florian’s in Auburn, drank out of my brand new Samuel Adams glass. Black body with very slight ruby-red highlights and about a half inch of tan head. Smells roasty, caramel, and chocolate. Tastes malty, chocolatey and caramely with hints of black licorice, and a burnt taste toward the finish. After a few sips the caramel and chocolate roastiness are almost exclusive in the flavor, which are rather pleasant. Relatively full-bodied, though not as full as many stouts and porters, and definitely not full enough to hurt the drinkability. This beer goes down pretty easily. It’s worth mentioning too that the alcohol is virtually non-existent in the aroma, mouthfeel, or flavor. Wow, what a nice beer. I can see myself going back to this one over and over again. Definitely looking forward to trying more beers from this brewery now that they’re in ME. unclemattie (2416), Georgia, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 16, 2007 22 ounce bottle in tulip glass. Almost no air sound when cap is lifted. Pours deep dark brown, almost black with almost no head. Immediately looks old. Aroma of roasted chocolate and port wine and wood. Raisiny port-like flavor with hints of chocolate. Somewhat watery body from lack of carbonation. It’s basically flat. Not enjoyable, but probably some fault of a clueless retailer. Will try again, but I gotta rate ‘em as I drink ‘em. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 11, 2007 Bomber: Pours a dark ruby with off-white and tan bubbles that eventually clear out after a while, aromas of caramel, chocolate, vanilla, dark candy and malt sweetness, rich malt fragrance, brown sugar and hint of oily smoke, aroma of dark malt, creamy mouth feel, dark malt flavor, faint sweet, nut and dark chocolate flavors, some brown sugar and molasses flavors, roasted malt and vanilla flavors, faint alcohol on the tongue that did not increase as the beer warmed or distract from the enjoyment of this brew, this porter finishes dry, faint licorice flavor in the background, some bitterness in the finish, some burnt flavors here and there, I was not disappointed.
