| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 28, 2007 Pours a dark dark brown to black with a quickly thinning tan head. The nose is full of alcohol, sweet cloying caramel, dark fruit (prunes, raisins), and a bit of roast. Feels thin and sticky on the tongue without much body and without much carbonation. Big and sweet malt is nearly overwleming. Slight roast, big caramel, moderate alcohol , bigger in the finish. A fun beer overall. tgncc (823), Bellmore, New York, USA

Aroma had the customary molasses present in most porters. Its appearance was VERY dark. Looks and smells very attractive. Pretty much medium thickness, nice finish. Nice flavor - like most porters, a little sweetness, with notes of chocolate and caramel. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 22, 2007 Updated: Jan 28, 2008Very dark brown in colour, thin beige coloured head, some spotty lacing. The aroma was of molasses, some dark chocolate, good roast, some soy sauce, dark malts and licorice. The flavour is of black licorice, dark chocolate bitterness, excellent roasted malts, buttery, some coffee. Incredibly smooth mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes with some chocolate, more roasted malts and very long. This beer got better and better as it warmed up.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 22, 2007 22oz Bottle: Thin looking pour, very dark brown with some translucence in the light and a loose tan head that fades. Roasty chocolate malts are evident in the aroma, along with light caramel, lots of licorice, and a hint of residual yeast. It’s a bit thin in body and mouthfeel. Has a spicy, dry flavor with dark chocolate, black pepper, light caramel hint in the background, and tons of licorice. The finish is long, roasty, slightly bitter and salty/bitter. This stuff feels European in character, but it’s only medicore, nothing standout. Yet it’s still a "good" beer, just a bit overrated in my opinion. beeranarchist (185), Aalborg, Denmark
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Mar 21, 2007 Bottle. Dark brown with a red glow and a small head. Coffee, grain and riped fruits in the nose. Sweet, creamy and very well balanced. Very easy to drinking considering the alcohol. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 19, 2007 Bomber. "XXII Reserve." Deep brown to black, translucent towards the edge. Thin tan head left spotty lacing. Aroma of molasses, and some more molasses, with some granola/oat cereal. Flavors of molasses, coffee, and chocolate smothering a dark toasted grain/cereal. Rich malty sweetness with no lactic sourness present. Some charred toast/roastiness on the finish, but very subtle. Full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Very enjoyable.
