Thin tan head left spotty lacing. Aroma of molasses, and some more molasses, with some granola/oat cereal. Flavors of molasses, coffee, and chocolate smothering a dark toasted grain/cereal. Rich malty sweetness with no lactic sourness present. Some charred toast/roastiness on the finish, but very subtle. Full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Very enjoyable. Rich aroma of grape, semi-sweet chocolate and roasted coffee. Mouthfeel is smooth and elegant. Feels full until it reaches close to room temp. and then thins out. Nice thin rings and webs of lacing. Flavor is charred, grapey, semi-sweet, milk and bitter chocolate and light coffee. Wonderful flavor. Has a very warming and comforting feel. Alcohol well-hidden. Pleasurable. chimplechamp (465), Oslo, Norway

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 27, 2007 The big bottle. Pouring this baby just in time to celebrate the trading deadline passing and the Sabres picking up Zuburus. Dense and dark, no light passing through at all, light brown/tan head that holds nicely, and very nice smooth flavor. No wacky aftertaste, firm mouthfeel. Time to watch the Sabs thump the Leafs. Great beer. I will also add I’ve not had enough experience to tell the difference between a Baltic and a regular "Porter." Can’t tell much difference to tell the truth, but worth researching more. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 26, 2007 Deep brown pour, opaque black in the glass. Large head, which fades a little faster than you’d expect. Aroma of dark chocolate and coffee. I’ve been craving a porter all day, but I’ll try to maintain perspective. This is the best damn beer made today. Really! ;)
Rich chocolate taste with just a hint of bitterness and salt. Medium to full body. Slightly creamy texture. Sweet and slightly bitter with a medium finish. Very good. Really! NicerInPerson (337), North of Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 25, 2007 The aroma was estery and fruity with a strong presence of chocolate and caramel. Other aromatics were a strong toasty and nutty malt presence coupled with toffee. The beer was black with a tan low head. The flavor was smooth with an espresso coffee and dark chocolate presence. The flavor was fruity with chocolate, caramel and a notable toasty/nutty nature. The body was medium and the carbonation was on the low side. A nice baltic, a bit on the fruity side, but some seem to be that way. 22 ounce bottle.
