Commercial Description:
Our imperial, Baltic-style porter is inspired by the strong, dark brews exported from Great Britain to Eastern Europe in the 18th and 19th centuries. Rich and flavorful with upfront notes of chocolate, caramel and toffee.

A very smooth, sweet Baltic porter. Jet-black with a lasting head. Rich aroma of molasses and bitter chocolate. Medium bodied, which is perhaps a little light for this weight of flavours. Very smooth flavour profile - chocolate, dark malt, cocoa powder, no edges to this at all. Carries its 7.5% abv very easily. Just a little too "clean" to rank among the best of the Baltics IMO, but very nice drinking. (Duff homecoming gathering)

Dark brown nearing black in colour. Small lasting khaki head. Coffee and roasted malt aroma with some nuttiness coming through. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Rich, thick and malty flavour with a nice hop presence at the end.

(02.04.06) One pint 6 fl oz brown bottle purchased from Brickskeller, Washington, DC. Bottled labeled as Reserve XXII. Black-ruby hued with small tan head. No discernable carbonation. Prunes, bourbon, and roasted malt aromas. Full bodied porter that starts with light sweet malt with prunes/chocolate/roasted malt flavors. Finishes with light lingering bitterness and roasted malt aftertaste. Complex flavors. . .Smooth and creamy. . . Well-balanced. . . More stout-like in texture and taste. An amazing imperial porter. Another excellent offering from Southampton. Simply delicious.

Bomber - A perfect looking beer. Poured midnight black with thick lasting tan head. Big chocolate, coffee, roasted malt aroma. Damn this beer tastes good. Chocolate, hop, malt flavors with a hint of caramel. Bittersweet finish that is long. At $4 a pop I will be buying many more of these.

bomber thanks to Degarth.
I’ve had my sights on this one for quite some time so was glad to finally get the opportunity to try it.
dark brown pour with a yellowish- red edge. aroma is like an alcoholic prune juice with some mild chocolate. flavor is pretty much the same but the palate is rather thin. I enjoyed it, I was just expecting a bit more complexity.

Contract brewed bottled version from Mendicino Brewing’s Saratoga Springs, NY Brewery. 22 oz bottle. Pours to a beautiful, opaque, jet black color with a thick and creamy tan head, and a moderate amount of carbonation. The nose is full and rich with lots of big coffee, roast, dark chocolate, and peppery alcohol aromas. The palate is firm but polished with good dark chocolate, coffee, and light roast flavors that coat the tongue. Imperial Porter finishes with more good dark chocolate and roast flavors up front, then ends with a smooth, clean, peppery alcohol burn that slightly lingers. An excellent domestic version of Baltic Porter. The Southampton brewed version of this style, is said to be, dare I say perfect? Seek this beer out if you can find it in your markets, and of course, if you can make it out to Long Island, try this one at source.

Thanks to JHop for this one. Pours an opaque black brown color with a thin film of white fizz on top. Aroma is roasty, chocolate, and alcohol. Flavor is very smooth and light for the abv. Nice and sweet chocolately with a slight roasted caramel finish. Overall, pretty impressed with the flavor.
