Sweet plums in the nose with some pungent yeast scents and some fuesal notes. A bit light - with a sharp maple and crisp oak flavor. A decent porter, but not complerely doing it for me. When warmed there are some smoke and cherry coffee notes that come forward. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA

Some roasted cocca flavors and some other sweetness to it but it really wasn’t a full beer. I also found it to be rather watery on the mouth feel. Aroma was sweet with some coffee notes but that too seemed light. shrug. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 13, 2005 Bomber. No head, murky dark brown. Very light aroma of cocoa, weak. Taste is soy, molassis, slight hop bitterness. Finish is watery, more molassis. I can see they are going for the baltic thing, but it just doesn’t come together. hopdog (5608), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Oct 20, 2005 Pours pitch black with an off-white head that dissipates somewhat quickly. The aroma is of milky chocolate, toffee, biscuits and lite caramel with a slight wine-sap note. The body is med. heavy and pure silk. The flavors are slightly less complex than the aromas with chocolate really being at the forefront. Some toffee notes but everything else just blends into the background. The finish is ever-so-slightly bitter but lends itself more to the silkiness of the body. A good strong beer? Yes, but lacking the complexity of malt flavors and texture like the great Zywiec and Baltica Porters. Oh yeah; and I heard it is pasteurized! Tisk, tisk! Ungstrup (15363), Frederiksberg, Denmark

The aroma is sweet roasted with notes of caramel as well as slightly burnt notes. The flavor is sweet roasted with light notes of chocolate and coffee as well as slight hints of soy sauce, and a dry end. For a Porter the body is thin. Twentys (41), Brooklyn, New York, USA

Smells choco-nutty w/ a strong alc. side. Is very smooth, a little quieter than
I expected, not too thick though. Well balanced and refreshing.
