Pours dark brown with a light tan head that leaves a thin ring around the snifter. Aroma of cherry cough drop, prunes, chocolate, graham cracker, and lightly roasted malt. The flavor is light roasted malt, raisin, chocolate, toffee and a bit of berry skin on the finish which imparts a tartness. These flavors are very subtle and the mouthfeel is medium. Not a bad beer at all. Thanks Dakine! dchmela (1452), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 15, 2008 22oz bottle. Pours a blackish red with a thin tan head. Slightly sweet malt and caramel aroma with some roasted grains. Nice smooth roasted grain, coffee and caramel taste. Clean crisp and easy drinking, almost bordering on dark lager style. Tasty. Pours dark brown with almost no head and very little lacing. The smell is not much bigger than a standard porter with some sweet chocolate malts and a hint of coffee. There is also hints of dark fruit on top of caramel malts. The taste is a bit more complex than the aroma with lots more chocolate with roasted malts in the background and a slight coffee bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is pretty light for a Baltic porter with decent carbonation. This is a very drinkable porter but not one that I would categorize as a Baltic. Still, a good beer. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 9, 2008 Brewed in the USA..... Pours a very dark brown - black color with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, and toffee. The taste is of light chocolate malts, caramel and a hint of toffee. The mouthfeel is thin and the finish is on the dry side. Overall, This was a average porter, but not quite what i expected. SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 9, 2008 This poured dark brown to black in color with a moderate beige head of fine bubbles that faded away. The nose gave off scents of plum, fig and chocolate. In the mouth it was medium-bodied, rich, carbonated and flavorful. This came off more as a Quad than a Porter...really, a lot more like a Quad then Porter. It would be a great ringer. In any case, it is a nice beer. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Dec 8, 2008 A nice imperial porter that is easier to drink than most. Aroma was a nice mix of chocolate and thick roasted malt with just a hint of black licorice. Pour was a nice near black with a one finger tan head. Taste was a little thin, but very complex. Lots of chocolate throughout with the faintest hint of black licorice in the background. Bitter chocolate malt aftertaste. Only complaint here is the water thin mouthfeel mreusch (742), Olathe, Kansas, USA

Pours a lighter brown with a foamy two finger tan head, moderate retention, minimal lacing. Aroma is dark fruits, brown sugar, lightly roasted chocolate malts and a bit of coffee roast. Flavor is more roasty, with chocolate, some caramel sweetness and more dark fruits. Not bad, and thanks again Margaret.
