Commercial Description:
Our imperial, Baltic-style porter is inspired by the strong, dark brews exported from Great Britain to Eastern Europe in the 18th and 19th centuries. Rich and flavorful with upfront notes of chocolate, caramel and toffee.

Sweet nose of chocolate, caramel. Little alcohol perhaps. Frothy beige head, color is dark but no where near opaque. Looks thin. To me this doesn’t taste very strong. Body is watery. I mean theres definetely some caramel, but hardly an roasty bitterness to back it up. Overall it tastes watery-sweet. Needs balance.

22oz bottle. Thanks to Steven(NYbeer) for the bottle. Very nice dark, dark red color. Dark roasty aroma, slightly roasty aroma. Very smooth drinker, especially for the strength. Tasty brew

Molasses brown pour, off cream head. Not a lot of carbonation. Smells of roasted tones, coffee and malts. Tastes similarly, some sweet chocolate and toffee. Finishes a little sweet but clean. Something a little metallic tasting? Could be a little bit heavier bodied. Still a good strong porter and probably the only readily available one on the list of top ones.

Pours very dark brown/black with a quickly dissipating light tan head. Nice sweet aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, caramel, and some coffee. This is a very tasty baltic porter, but it is thinner than I was expecting. Sweet with a nice roasty flavor. I’d recommend trying it.

22 oz. bottle - purchased at new beer in NYC; pours thin cola brown with quickly fading tan head; aromas are very sweet and alcohol is obvious despite "only" being 7.2%; aromas of candy, toffee and mocha; the sweetness is the key word here; wow, first sip is just divine; body is definitely on the thin side (being a baltic), but full of flavor; toffee and candy dominate over the coffee and/or chocolate of other imperials porters; and just a touch of smoke; due to some other Southampton letdowns, my expectations were lowered for this and that made it even more enjoyable; i like the imperial baltic porter angle rather than the standard imperial porters that are borderline stouts in flavor and texture; this retains all the flavor with a thin, smooth body; something i might aim from in a future homebrew batch
