Commercial Description:
Our imperial, Baltic-style porter is inspired by the strong, dark brews exported from Great Britain to Eastern Europe in the 18th and 19th centuries. Rich and flavorful with upfront notes of chocolate, caramel and toffee.

Draft at Blind Tiger in NYC. Pours a dark brown with tan head. Aroma is mostly burnt malt. Tastes of coffee, and chocolate dominate this brew. Finishes clean on palate.

Very dark, not much of a head. Nose is peppery, with cocoa and coffee. Palate is nice, a bit oily, dark chocolate, lots of malt on this, but still maintains some balance, decent, not as nice as a baltic, but very drinkable.

Dark brown-red with a thin cream head. Heavy malt nose with pine and licorice as backing. Flavor is similar, strong chocolate malt with light plum and faint cream, roast bitterness following through in the finish. Thick, sticky body. Pretty good, though not showing much complexity.

The Dan Journal #281. Tasted 8/17/09. 22oz bomber. Dark opaque hue. Sticky malty nose with hints of syrup, raisins and dark toast. Medium bodied with a very sweet palate. Sticky doughy note. Dry finish. This is very well crafted! Just the way I like it!

bottle courtesy of cletus. pours a thick blackened brown with minimal head, 1 finger if you are vigorous. nose has some nice chocolate muffin notes with a lil cacao powder on top and some espresso essence. taste is nice and creamy, with some solid burnt and smoked notes, yet not overwhelming. smooth drinker.

bottle: full, sweet malts in the nose, chocolate and hints of caramel. pours dark brown/black with a quickly dissipating tan head. The brew is well balanced, medium bodied and smooth mouthfeel with bright carbonation. Roasted malts, coffee finished with hops and alcohol for a nice ending. I like it a lot but probably won’t be running back to the shop for seconds.

( 22oz bottle thanks to ballewblake) Pours a dark clear brown with oily bubbles. Nose of bakers chocolate, cola and coffee. Taste is semisweet chocolate, with a very creamy body and nice carbonation. The linger is roasted toffee and the body is surprisingly light.
