| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 3, 2009 2008 bottle via trade thanks to badbeer on BA. Pours jet black and fairly thick with a small tan head and good lacing. Aroma is roast, coffee, licorice, and some dark fruit. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and a little anise. Very good and well-balanced. A little on the less sweet side for an imperial stout. Silky smooth on the palate with medium full body and a little alcohol warmth. Pretty drinkable for an imperial stout. Gypsy19 (630), California, USA

Appearance is a flowing deep cola brown with no head. The aromas and flavors are rich roasted malts, smoked sausage, molasses, dark chocolate. Mouth is mildly carbonated and full bodied. An excellent brew that would only improve with age. awiseman01 (352), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 18, 2009 Got this one from a trade, thanks bro! 2009 Vintage from a 750ml bottle, numbered 112 of 400. Here we go.
Appearance is just perfect for this stout nerd, completely black, extremely thick and pillowy mocha colored head with great retention and lacing.
Smell is of chocolate, smoke, earthy hops. Good.
Taste is also good, not great..smoke, roasted malts, even a slight hop presence, nothing in the Yeti realm, but more than most. Again good, could use some age.
Mouth is medium bodied and medium in carbonation. Would have preferred a little thicker.
This is a good beer and I am happy to have the opportunity to try this one.
