2005 bomber. Pours a motor oil black color with an immense brownish beige head. Aroma is of roasted coffee, malt,dark chocolate,prunes and smoke. Flavor is rich dark chocolate,roasted coffee,cocoa, and liquid smoke. Excellent taste and flavor for this hard to find gem. 2/16/08 On draft at the Southampton Publick House. Pours a pitch black with a medium light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and oats. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate and smoke. Leaves a charcoal aftertaste. Excellent !! aroma 8 appearance 4 flavor 8 palate 4 overall 17 total 4.1

22 oz bottle 2005 A nice head of light brown comes from this one as it’s poured. Opaque black body. Roast malt, coffee and dark chocolate aroma. Smooth and rich mouth feel deliver a well balanced brew that coats the tongue. A bit of hop bitterness in the finish. Nicely balanced and it hides it’s alcohol completely.

(22oz bottle, vintage 2005, thanks Barry) Medium dark brown head atop an oily black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, rich chocolate, espresso, some roast, light vanilla. Taste is moderately sweet, roasty chococoffee, some lactose. Some hops in the background lend a semblance of balance, but truly this is about the malts. Smooth medium-full body that holds the alcohol quite well -- I was amazed at how quickly I downed this one.

Courtesy of Pailhead. Pours opaque black with beige head that fades to wispy film. Very carbonated stout. Aroma has tons of chocolate up front, fades to bitter coffee. Flavor is all bitter coffee with some cocoa and roasted grain. Too much coffee for my taste.

100% opaque, very dark head, all looking the way it should be. Salami, roasted malts, and smoke. Intense intense flavor with a very good chocolate finish. Vigorous palate, rich but still revealing some carbonation. Excellent in limited quantities, this is a Imperial Stout of the first order.

2005: Pour is black with a thin skin of a dark brown head...smell is smokey and toasty...smoked meat indeed...taste is sweet and mildly toasty with some chocolate, smoke, light coffee...nice...

(Bottle) Pours think oily black body with a small light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and smoked meat. Flavor of roasted malt and chocolate with a bitter finish.

Bottle. Nose-smoked pork, jerky. Taste-big ’ol wallop of metal, bacon, smoked ham, charred oak, port like notes. Lots of smokey and roasty notes all over htis bad boy. Some baking powder, coffee, and grit come out in the end.
