courtesy of tpd975 bottle#247 pours black with thin mocha head. Aroma and taste, lots of roasted malts, light coffee, hints of chocolate that adds s subtle bittersweetness and a grainy palate. Boozy and very tatsty.

Bottle thanks to tpd975 for sharing. Poured solid black with a creamy brown head. Nose is full of hard roasted notes, chocolate and a touch of anise. Pretty full-bodied with a viscous mouthfeel. Flavor is burnt malt and dark, bitter chocolate some sweet licorice notes are also present. Pretty solid impy overall.

Bottle 372/450 from 2009. Pours an inky black with a substantial brown head. Powerful alcoholic nose with fresh coffee, dates, milk chocolate, and vanilla. Flavor is somewhat sweet and lactic with dried cherries, coffee, vanilla, and semi-sweet chocolate. This is a very smooth brew with a bitter aftertaste that cuts through the alcohol. While this could certainly stand another year or two in the bottle, it is still excellent...

This beer is mine at last!!!!! Pours a dark black, red tinge on the edge, no head whatsoever. The aroma is beautiful, a mix of fruits, raisins, slight roasted coffee., A surprisingly sweet aroma for this style. Th flavor follows the aroma, very sweet, raisins, plums, and a hint of rfosted coffee,. The roastiness suplies ther only bittering noticeable on the finish. The finish liners with sweet fruit, and a slight bitter coffee. The mouthfeel is medium thick, and silky. Beautiful beer overall.

2009 Bottle #372 of 450. Pours jet black with a brown head. Aroma reminds me of fresh baked dark chocolate brownies. Thick, rich, dense flavor with dark chocolate and licorice. Superb.

1000th rating, 2008 Bottle thanks to Dmac. Pours out black with a two-finger tan head. Complex aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, earthy tobacco and some dried fruits. Taste is very complex with a nice smooth mouthfeel. Flavors of roasted malts, dark chocolate, slight coffee, fig, cherry, earthy notes little bit of bitterness and alochol in the finish. Overall a very good RIS
