| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Feb 14, 2009 Bottle. Pours black with a huge, thick dark chocolate head. One of the prettiest imperial stouts I’ve seen. Aroma of rich chocolate malt and roasted malt. Flavor is smooth, creamy, and chocolatey. Not rich per se, but super smooth and mellow. I prefer it to a lot of a heavier RISes. A top notch imperial stout and one of my favorites.

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 6, 2009 I wrote a review of this beer last year and totally trashed it for horrible off-tastes. I actually poured half of the bottle down the sink. But for some reason my review disappeared into cyberspace and after a year of aging in my basement this beer has matured, mellowed and improved to a degree I never thought possible. It is creamy and complex with smoky chocolate overtones that make it one of the most intriguing Russian Imperial Stouts around. Ungstrup (15371), Frederiksberg, Denmark
