Hoppy flavor with a dull finish. Decent IPA... JCB (1796), Durham, North Carolina, USA

Label is different (sez Publick House) and abv is listed at 6.1%. Lively pour, copper like an APA. Fairly understated aroma, more malts coming through than hops in a sense. The body is active and pleasant, and the resinous hops come alive in the taste. Not a huge amount of character, and definitely more like a SNPA clone than a flavorful IPA in my opinion. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 11, 2009 Nice paleish copper coloured body with a light white head. Aroma of pale malt, slightly stale hops, apricots and a nice fresh pine smell that lasts forever. Medium-bodied; Strong hoppy flavour up front with a good malt backbone and a subtle fruity flavour that perpetuates throughout the tasting. Overall, a bit lacking, since the hops don’t last, but a good beer throughout. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased by Phil (haddon90) from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 25-December-2005. mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 8, 2009 In the bottle from Beertopia. Light orange amber with a mild floral and citrus scent. Medium thickness and mild hop bitterness to the finish. OK, but not great. Vastly over-rated. afireinside96 (841), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 6, 2009 Pours a medium amber with a lasting fluffy head. Nose is semi-faint, includes pine and floral notes. Taste is also rather mild. Some biscuit, citrus, caramel, pine, and toast. As others have said this is more an APA than an IPA. Not much bitterness or intense hop flavor. Easily quaff able though. 502Flavors (631), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 4, 2009 bottle into pint glass. Different label than shown here. Good, but not great. not a traditional American IPA. More like traditional pale ale. verymerrymonk (257), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 3, 2009 Pour is a clear copper with a fair off white head. I have to echo previous raters’ sentiments, this is a balanced beer with timid hop flavor. Probably not a great example of an IPA, but nice standing on its own.
