Mango and apricot as well. Pours muddied bright copper with a creamy white head leafing frothy sticky lacing. Flavor is quite nice. Mango, mandarin oranges and tangerines. Very pleasant hoppiness. Some soap and perfume. Just enough malt to balance. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Finishes with a lasting bitterness. Quite a nice surprise. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Slight hazed orange amber color with a nice sudsy white head. Smell is sweet and mildly hopped in the nose. Taste is very citrusy, floral and tea like with a mild gummy sweetness and a medium mouthfeel. Mild bitterness and very tea-like overall I thought. Still a nice and enjoyable IPA. scottw86 (182), Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 3, 2007 Poured a hazy amber with a small white head. Tasted slightly of citrus, with a fair amount of hops. Aftertaste was very nice and smooth the whole way through. A good IPA. RollinHard (758), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 17, 2007 Thanks to Jasonmech77 for this. Pours a caramel orange color with a fluffy white head, sticks around forever. Aroma is tart with lemon, old herbs (oregeno?), and pepper, with the slightest toast presence detectable. The flavor is also on the tart side, but a little on actual citrus tastes. There’s more toast malt this time, and a slightly charred wood flavor, some grapefruit and earthy dirty on the back. Finishes bitter, dry, woody and grapefruit-like. Carbonation is moderate and the mouthfeel is...merely there. This is really a pale ale with a bit more hops. If Southampton makes a pale, I can’t imagine it being all that different. mrant (330), New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 17, 2007 Smells very strongly of citrus hops, very pleasant. Pours a clear copper color with a small white head. Taste citrus, but a little weak, kind of watery. Not unpleasantly so, a nice IPA. checkmatei1 (630), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 14, 2007 Hazy amber in color, thick head that just doesn’t want to go away. The aroma is of hops with a hint to carmel. This beer feels thick and creamy. It has a really good flavor and a smooth, but not so bitter finish. alexsdad06 (1081), Ohio, USA

Pours a hazy light amber color with a small off white head. The aroma is light caramel malt, floral and citrus hops. The flavor is similar with sweet caramel malts blending with the citrus and floral hops nicely. Medium bodied, dry finish with some bitterness. This is a decent east coast IPA, but doesn’t quite match up to many of the west coast varieties.

Forgot that I had rated this before. New label version is similar, but it seems to be just below when I had this before. Citrus, floral hops with a mildly sweet malt base. Overall this isn’t doing much for me. Rastacouere (5553), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 9, 2007 Clearish golden-orange pour in my largest snifter covered by a fair 2cm off-white head with patchy lacing. Perfumey nose offers soft nectar and honeyed maltiness, fair pale malt flavours as well. Obviously, the hops steal most of the show with their snappy forest notions and seville orange suggestions. Seems a bit hesitant on the whole, never really expanding, always bearing a strong carbonation that enhances the dryness, but also its mineral leanings. Salty, quick finish for an IPA. Light-bodied and rather fresh tasting, but for a mild metallic undertones. A relatively soft IPA, quite spot on, but unpretentious and quite heavy on the minerals.
