Commercial Description:
IPAs are more highly hopped and a bit stronger than traditional pale ales. There are two distinct styles - English and American. English IPAs tend to be more subtle and a bit maltier while American IPAs have a bolder hop character.
Southampton brewmaster Phil Markowski has combined the best of both styles in his IPA. He’s crafted an ale with the bold citrusy hop character of an American IPA and the maltier, more refined flavor of an English IPA. Although the defining characteristic of Southampton IPA is balance, its incredible blend of three American and two British hop varieties is sure to please any hophead!

Pours a reddish coper with a thick fluffy head. Sweet IPA aroma predominated by citrus (mainly grapefruit, orange and hops). A beautiful hoppy bitterness pounds your palate. Perfect carbonation makes for a great mouthfeel. Good brew.

Bottle courtesy of eaglefan538. Good citrus orange aroma. Darker orange body with white head and plenty of lacing on side of glass. Jucicy orange citrus flavor with a mild sweetness present. Cool and crisp and on the palate an enjoyable brew. Thanks Brian.

On tap at the Publick House in Southampton, NY. A not-overly-hopped IPA that was malty with lingering bitterness.

Typical candy IPA aroma. Slightly cloudy iced tea color. Difficult to take hops bitterness greets the tongue on the first taste and keeps coming with every sip thru the session. Bitter chewing on soapy grapefruit rind taste that lingers forever. Good thing somebody gave this to me, I certainly would not buy it myself. Perfect example of good IPA, could even pass for a double IPA. Barely any carbonation. Every aspect of this brew is overwhelming hops. Annoying hop finish. I recently had Southern Tier IPA which was much more of a gentleman than this.

Pours a light orange amber with a white head. Nose is very hoppy with pine characters going on. Flavor seems, well, bland. And I have to say it doesn’t seem that clean either. There is a lot of carbonation and the liquid feel is pretty thick too. IMO this is not that great of an IPA. I remembered having this on bottle and not being overly impressed. I am wondering if this was a bad sample.

12oz bottle via trade with someone. Pours copper orange with a big fluffy chunky sculptural off white head. Nose is lightly hoppy with a touch of citrus. Tastes like a pretty typical ipa, some nice hidden bitterness that doesn’t stand out. Overall tasty.

Cloudy amber body with a tiny white head. Citrusy hops aroma. Hops bitterness quite hidden. Very drinkable. Would make a very good easy introduction to IPAs for someone that isn’t used to this stye. Thanks to vyvvy for the bottle.

Pours a hazy deep golden/orange color with a small white head. The aroma is citrus hops with other light fruit and caramel malt included as well. Taste is the same, with a sweet beginning followed up by citrus and hoppy notes, and a nice hoppy finish. A very nice IPA from a great, great brewery.
