Commercial Description:
IPAs are more highly hopped and a bit stronger than traditional pale ales. There are two distinct styles - English and American. English IPAs tend to be more subtle and a bit maltier while American IPAs have a bolder hop character.
Southampton brewmaster Phil Markowski has combined the best of both styles in his IPA. He’s crafted an ale with the bold citrusy hop character of an American IPA and the maltier, more refined flavor of an English IPA. Although the defining characteristic of Southampton IPA is balance, its incredible blend of three American and two British hop varieties is sure to please any hophead!

Nice pine and citrus nose with hints of sugared grapefruit, but a bit faint. Pours a hazy dark amber, with a tight white head. Starts with a toast and caramel flavor, which fades quickly as the citrus from the hops shows up. Lighter in body then I prefer, but a good beer overall.

Thank to JK for sharing. Hazy dark orange color. Pine and citrus nose with a faint hop body that seemed a little week.

From a 22-oz bottle, shared by JK, pours a clear golden amber brew with a thick and lively off-white head with good retention. Aroma of sweet grapefruit and roasted caramel malt with a touch of yeast. Taste is average carbonated, medlium bodied with a bready, grapefruit and orange flavor. Finish has a smooth watery feel, medium bitterness with a slight metalic aftertate.

[Bottle, thanks JK] Poured amber with a small white head. Piney aroma that was alright. Was lacking a little on the flavor, but what was present was citrus and mild hops. Wasn’t very bitter. I didn’t think this was offensive in any way, but just not my favorite beer.

Thank ya, JK! Orange color with a medium head. Grapefruit aroma and a bit of grain. Caramelly taste with a lot of hoppy pine goodness. A bit of citrus. Good and tasty.

Pours an orange, somewhat clear color. Forms a white head. Aroma is of grapefruit, hops, oranges/tangerines, a bit of pines and grass. Flavor is is of tangerines, hops, malts and field berries. A bit dry in the end, not overpowering or overly hoppy. Not a bad IPA, but not a knockout, per say.

This beer pours deep amber and has a small head. It shows nice citrus hops notes and then dives into the citrus and bitter flavors on the mouth. The palate is comeplx with a long finish.

Bottle. Pours an ambery brown, definte hops but not overpowering. A pretty good example of the style.
