| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 6, 2006 This IPA pours a dark dirty blonde, with a frothy tan lace. The body is clear and clean everything I expect from an IPA. The nose is fantastic, floural hop aroma, sweet honey, raw dough, some fruity herbs accent this brew. The taste is so nice, it starts with a syrup thickness mouthfeel. The sweetness from the malt brings out a caramel flavor, and the herbs are floural reminding me of summer. The hop bitterness in the brew is perfectly balanced with a creamy sweetness, and a bready aspect on the palate. Fantastic IPA the I will def try again.

Overall this beer is as close to a perfect IPA as I’ve seen yet. jah noth (1020), Rochester, New York, USA

Pours a nice orange/deep golden in color with fluffy white head. Complex aroma of grapefruit and sweet toasted malt. Bountiful flavors of dry, citric hops, some sweet melons, toasted and some munich-type malt. Nice dry, bitter finish. I am very disappointed I have none left in my glass. Enjoyable. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 8, 2005 Bottle ala jjpm74. Dark golden color with a full head of taupe. Head settle to a stable cm of bubbles and shiny tiny bubbles aline the upper portion of the glass. A floor malt quality touches the nasal passages, along with what I would call a lemon blossom scent. Perhaps a touch sedate for what I was expecting, but perhaps just right. Aroma get more sweet (brown sugar and floral) as it settles. Full lightly oily feel that is quite relaxing. Full lightly toasted malt sweetness touches and spreads across the mouth. The floral hops spring to the forefront mid sip and bounce about balancing the light honey flavors. A touch of lemon and heather also seem to be present. A very traditional brew in that the there are more hops, but yet new age in the types of hops utilized. balanced better than most. A nice return of malt in the linger. An IPA I could embrace just about anytime and would invite to my taps in the basement anytime. Thanks John. Actually just read TAR’s review and I could just replace his word with mine, it’s all that plus what I stated. Easily one of the better "true" IPAs I’ve had in a while. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 20, 2007 Semi dulled peachy browned honey color. Very dense and large capping of thickly frothy and clothy foam sits on top which keeps a finger high intensity the whole glass through. Very impressive. Sticky shelves of lacing have the appeal of scattered/tattered sheets. An awesome eye of an ale!
Softly pine sided aroma; clean, round, and woody. Notes of wet wood, green fresh hops, and some dullish old lemon and grapefruit.
Taste is nice balanced and favorable towards a more malty side then big on the hops. The malt backing is dead on yummy and complex as hell with a nice tone intertwining a nice mix of crystal, pale, biscuit, and caramel malts. Soft on the tongue up front, fluffy back end of hop texture adding nice bittering pinches of grapefruit and orange. The hoppyness is leafy and fresh with a very clean nature and easy going bite that screams drink me!
Solid medium body, nice texture and tone and change about its character. Kinda quite and subtle, soft and supple, with a nice flavor profile that sticks with you. The malts in the back are quite amazing to me.
Well done IPA here! It’s no hop bomb monster. It’s subtle play and soft alluring complexity is damn solid and very nice to behold. Kevin (1918), Colorado, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 7, 2006 Nice orange copper body and a frothy white head. Mainly citrus nose with a little pine. Sweet straightforward hoppy flavor citrus flavors start this off and a bit of sugary goodness comes in then a touch of pine on the back of my tongue and a lingering pine and grass finish. Not over the top, not too aggressive. An enjoyable, true IPA. I was afraid I was about to get walloped with a double IPA or something but this is just right in line with what I wanted at this time. Nice sticky smooth mouth feel. Just enough malt sweetness to balance this. Thanks to shadey for this beauty, I owe you man. Just a light vanilla ice cream note is the only way I can think of to describe the sweet part of this, or better yet waffle cone with ice cream, yeah that is close but it is such a secondary part of this it is hard to nail down. A lovely hop flavor is what this puts forward and the malt is just there as a support. A damn good beer.
