sayravai (3181), Helsinki, Finland May 15, 2008 (Bottled, 0.66l) Clear amber with a very small head. Spicy aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon and cloves, with some sourish hints. Flavor is also sweetish pumpkin, with tart hints and some berries. Medium-bodied with soft carbonation. A decent brew with interestingly spicy flavor and a dry, saisony feel.
Goodgrief (1042), Middletown, Delaware, USA Oct 6, 2008 KSBF 08. I don’t like pumpkin ales, but every year I make myself try one or two just to confirm my tastebuds have not evolved. This was my guinea pig beer this year. No, I still hate them. Tons of cinnamon and nutmeg...both of which I can tolerate in hot coffee or a warm danish, but beer...ICK, no. Really sweet, too. This one actually did remind me of the pumpkin creme desert thing my wife makes. The dessert is delicious, the beer...not so much. Rciesla (813), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Oct 3, 2008 Draft at Blind Tiger, with Reuben & Jen, as part of their pumpkin Promo. 15 lines i believe. All sampled as 5oz pours. This one tasted like real extract and a bit like chemical pumpkins. Least favorite of the night. crazyvin (1089), New York, USA Sep 14, 2008 A nice mahogany body with a slightly off-white head. Aroma was of strong pumpkin pie notes. Cinnamon and nutmeg were strong as far as the spice notes. Flavor seemed to have a brown sugar quality to it. A nice smooth finsih. cakanator (25), Northampton, Massachusetts, USA Sep 11, 2008 One of my favorite pumpkin beers that has just enough pumpkin flavor and spices to not be watery. Great orange red color. Nose is better than pallet which is a let down to some, but as my first official fall beer to the season I liked it. Pumking is better but this will do. GMCC2181 (410), Bear, Delaware, USA Sep 10, 2008 Bottle. Clear amber/orange. Small head. Weak of aroma of spices. Taste is good amount of spices, small amount of pumpkin with some nutmeg. For a pumpkin beer it is average, not overdone or weak. Decent pumpkin beer.
