hellbilly (1508), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA Nov 12, 2009 bottle given to paul from nick then shared with the crew since we hadn’t already had enough to drink after sunup’s anniversary...
pours hazy with a golden orange hue and a rocky off white head. this one has serious amounts of splotchy foamy lacing left behind.
sweet aroma... honey, corn, sweet pale malt, clove, black pepper, dry grass and earthy pears.
again, the palate is sweet as well.... too sweet for me. or, at least for it to be considered refreshing and crisp. the flavor mimics the aroma but throws in some flowers, peaches, yeast and some skunky hoppiness. it tastes good... there’s just too much sugar.
it is medium bodied with soft carbonation though the texture is a bit thick from the residuals. 7/4/7/3/15/3.6 ditmier (1050), Boise, Idaho, USA Oct 23, 2009 2008 Bottle - Pours clear pale tan (until you get to the bottom) with a larfe, frothy white head...aroma is sticky malty lemon, honey and a bit of clove, dough...flavour is similar, grassy and floral, this one has way too much gravity, it’s a tasty, sweet mess...bready pear, grain, more honey, lingering sugar and grain...interesting brew... blutt59 (2088), Dallas, Texas, USA Oct 8, 2009 bottle, clear golden yellow with frog eye foam, aroma is grainy and yeasty with some honey, flavor is bitter metallic, some fruit and chalk, lasting finish shawnm213 (906), South Bend, Indiana, USA Oct 2, 2009 Bottle from Cletus, Thanks John!
