Pours a slightly hazy bubbly yellow-gold with a large lasting frothy white head. Very nice spicy, bready yeast aroma along with lemon and spices. Very dry, yeasty flavour with a good amount of spices, some lemon and a spicy bitter finish. Medium bodied, quite carbonated. This is an excellent Saison, very refreshing and one of the best I’ve ever had. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA

The nose is dry and tangy in that Belgian sort of way. Lemon and anise come out in particular. Perhaps a light hint of almond? Overall, mostly that standard slightly peppery lemony light crisp saison aroma. Though much more restrained in terms of spice profile (thankfully). Yeasty. A soft foamy mouthfeel, perhaps a bit over carbonated, but not an egregious wrongdoing. A light creamy refreshing brew. A lot like a good pilsner, but certainly a bit more going on. Dry with that Belgian tartness. Again, lemony, a bit peppery and even spicy. Yeast finish, giving way to something really spicy that I rather enjoy. A bit soapy in terms of the interplay between the texture (slippery) and citrus. Alcohol is noticable, but works given all the herbal and spice notes. A very long fruity lively spicy finish. The pepper really takes hold in ther aftertaste. I could drink this and be pretty happy. HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada

Hazy gold/orange pour with a huge lasting creamy-foamy white head, small champagne bubbles persisted throughout. I picked up the lush, bready aroma from three feet away - yeast, spice, very dry and lemony, slightly tart and peppery - fantastic. The taste followed reasonably well, to me there was less yeast character and more (lightly burnt) malt, not much alcohol presence at all - tasty, but a slight let-down after that aroma. The body was only average, somewhat sticky and terrifically lively mouthfeel - so lively that it took a while to drink - the finish was decently long, and a nice amount of funky/peppery-spice bitterness to it. Very nice indeed, good complexity, up there with the best saisons. Lubiere (4551), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Aroma of catnip, dandelion, herbs, very complex and enticing. In mout, a light sweet malt with dryish hops, mineral notes, and warming alcohol. Notes of Brett/leather. Rich and complex...another winner. Tasted at "Montréal YeHA! Party 2006". Dec. 16 2006. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Lovely aroma - lemon, yeast, really soft and nice. Huge fluffy white head, great lacing, tons of streaming active bubbles, medium to dark yellow. Taste is very spicy, more yeast and lemon. Really spicy finish. Medium body. Pretty darn nice. 5000 (2600), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA

tartness on the tongue.   Somewhat dry, slight bits of apple skin also make an appearance.   Soft notes of alcohol, but this ones
breadiness does provide some background.   Body and mouthfeel are full and bubbley.   Clean finish, remains somewhat dry.
Slightly barnish.   One of the better American made Saisons I have had in a while.   Mucho Gracias Paul for this gem!

Pours transparent copper with huge quickly fading head and great sticky lacing. Flavor is much yeastier than aroma with the spices and floral hops competing for attention. Palate is creamy and tart. Tasty and refreshing. Not as much yeasty funk as its Belgian counterparts, but pretty close. SoLan (1427), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 26, 2007 Almost zero pop when pulled out the cork. Yellow gold pour with a ginormous, dense, rock solid white head. I waited for it to settle and poured again, with caution. The head just kept growing, right up out of the glass, no less than 6.25cm above the rim. Underneath the impenetrable foam, a blizzard of small bubbles was swirling around and feeding the growing blob of carbonation. Rivals Chouffe Houblon for the most interesting pour I’ve seen. Nose is musty, crisp, grainy, yeasty, floral. Flavor is the same plus some light colored fruits. Dry, yeasty finish with some subtle alcohol warmth on the aftertaste. Medium to medium/full body, surprisingly just a bit more carbonated than balanced, which works very well. A hell of a lot better than it was a few months ago. I think I have one more bottle. I hope so. I received a few of these in trades or SS, thanks those that sent them.
