Green apple, yeast, some molasses and cinnamon spicing to go with subtle coriander all on the nose. Highly carbonated with cantaloupe, green apple, cherry fruit. Fizzy finish shows some light caramel apple and dry white wine qualities. A really complex and generous beer. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark

Poured into my Duvel glass and the head on this beer shot up and over the rim, very quickly. After five minutes or so of cleaning I turn my attention back to the beer and the head is STILL mushroomed out the rim, only showing a few dimples but no signs of diminishing. I can pick up yeasty aromas of cloves with some oranges and lemon grass. The beer has been poured now for ten minutes or so and the head has only retreated about a quarter inch; it’s still well over five fingers high. Fifteen minutes now; the dissipating sped up a bit as the head cleared the flare in the glass, I finally get to taste this thing! The huge amount of malt in this beer is the first thing that hits me. Very spicy and peppery with tons of fruit flavors (orange, apricots and grapes). Somewhat hot with a very musty, dry finish. JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma is grainy, yeasty, and quite earthy. Taste has a nice mix of yeast and earthy-grainy malts mixed together with a strong showing from the hops. Well hopped with a nice grassy-herbal flavor and a nice tingle/bite. Good Saison from a very good brewer. RagallachMC (631), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 10, 2007 750ml bottle. Aroma: Lemony citrus, flower petals, pink peppercorns, light maltiness with a touch of wheat, yeast, and a healthy dose of dusty funk. Appearance: Light golden in color and very hazy. Off-white head was huge and foamy, and lasted until the bottom of the glass. Great lacing. Flavor: Some light sweet maltiness upfront with some wheat notes. Lemon peel, yeast, pepper, perfumey floral, fresh grass, and some dank earthiness.A light sour funkiness with notes of dusty basement throughout. Finishes Dry and crisp. Medium bodied. High carbonation. Overall: Flavorful beer with a lot of character. A little over carbonated would be my only complaint. Cornfield (4957), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 10, 2007 The head is tall, dense, and filled with a jillion tightly packed bubbles. The hazy, pale straw body is alive with a steady stream of tiny bubbles that struggle to maintain the head. A valiant effort, but it soon settles down to a one-fingered cap. Its aroma is built on sweet pale malt, fortified by citrus fruits and old clipped grasses, supported by a peppery spiciness, and accented by a light floral bouquet. Very light, perhaps a bit too carbonated in the mouth. (It most certainly gasses up the gut... good thing I can belch on demand - a handy talent for a heavy [in quantity, not pounds] beer drinker.) The flavor is light and refreshing. Sweet malts again form the base complemented by the same cast of characters reflected in the nose. The finish is dry and mildly bitter. Quite nice.

I’ve been sitting on this one a few months and shared it over Easter brunch with friends. Pours a nice, bright golden hue with a monstrous, foamy white head. First taste is a little yeasty, but nothing over the top and not unpleasant in the least. Lots of grassy, earthy and citrus notes with a bit of spice in the background. Very effervescent and carbonated, but refreshing - especially on a warm Spring day in the islands. Medium body with a clean, dry finish. Very easy drinking and one that left my less serious beer friends wanting more. A nice take on the style and one I will seek out again.
