Pours to a thin pale straw colored body with a thin white head. The aroma is very good. Notes of banana, spice, toasty grains, cloves, and sweet sugars. The flavor is bananas, straw, yeasts, spices like nutmeg. The palate is moderately full bodied, spicy, and has a wheaty texture.

Bottle from MrBendo. Murky, hazy yellow-orange body, thick puffy off-white head. Sweet floral aroma with notes of pineapple and abundant esters. Classic flavors of flower petals, perfumey spices, and light fruits (pear, white grape, pineapple), with good balance among the elements. Creamy, soft, complex body. Well-done, but it doesn’t stray from the familiar, which makes me hesitant to use glowing terms.

Bottle from Capone’s. Huge pop as the cork came off. Despite careful pouring, I ended up with 60% of a headful into a St. Berny chalice. The head reappeared with every repour, and approached the look of the La Chouffe Hobbelein IPA head. The aroma was very floral, spicy, citric, with some barnyardy yeast notes. The palate was floral and dry, with flavors that were spicy, floral, apricotty fruity, funky yeasty. More florals and spices emerged as it warmed. Very complex, very lively on the palate, and very well balanced for this style.

Cloudy golden body underneath a big fluffy white head. The aroma is full of cloves, noble hops and yeasty phenols. Fruity, yeasty flavor with hints of clove. Finish is crisp and refreshing.

Cold 750ml corked bottle: Pours a cloudy yellow color with orange tinge and a persistent giant fluffy ivory head. Aroma is of nice yeast, light grains, light fruits and farm notes. Taste is of light grains, nice yeast, light fruits, lemon and pepper. Light to medium bodied, crisp and well carbonated. Ending has some dryness and light sour notes.

750ml: Pours a cloudy dark yellow with orange and a large fluffy persistent white head, citrus aroma with lots of lemon, pepper and apples. Starts and ends lightly sweet with a fruity aftertaste, light bodied, with fizzy mouthfeel, and some sour notes.

[Bottle, February 2007] Dark yellow/ hazy orange pour. Small quickly diminishing white fizzy head. Aroma is citrusy with notes of lemon and orange peel. Flavor is heavily citrus. Orange and lots of lemon. Finish has medium bitterness.
