This Saison is super dry and just as good as you would expect from a guy that wrote a book about Saisons and Biere du Gardes.

Bottle back from DC last go around. Big foamy white head and a murky dull yellow color. Malt is very apparent and gives you a big nice body. Also getting a faint bitter citrus taste but I would expect a much bigger and complex experience in general. Still a crisp, clean, and smooth beer.

750 ml bottle - purchased at New Beer Dist. in NYC; hazy, straw gold with thick white head you can scoop out with a spoon; aromas of green apples, yeast and a little spice; mostly floral though and mainly apple throughout in the flavors as well; a slight touch of funk as it drinks dry and rich; a little sharp and seems to be missing something;maybe the sweetness; texture comes of a little fizzy with too much carbonation; a little disappointing

750 mL bottle received via Secret Santa July 2008. Pours hazy orange with a large, rocky, white head, mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (grain, hay, straw, meal), average hops (herbs, grass), heavy yeast (horse blanket, barnyard, earth) with notes of pear, wood, and pepper. Medium bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

[bottle] Spicy and citrusy aroma: lemony orange, sweet spicy malt, some cork. Orangish, dark yellow with large bubbled fizz that quickly drops. Corky spicy bitter flavour with fresh noble hops and a woody bitterness. Light body, high, refreshing carbonation, spicy peppery bitter finish.

(Bottle) Pours hazy yellow golden. The aroma is dusty and lemony with a toasted, white bread-like maltiness and grassy, floral and light woody hops. Some yeast floating around in the background. The flavour is spicy and light grassy hop bitter with some light dusty notes. Malty tones of white bread are also present. The mouthfeel is clean, spicy and dry. Medium bodied.

(6/29/08) Bottle sample at RBESG08 grand tasting in Plzen. Hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma is slightly funky with some yeast and fruits. Sweetish fruity flavor with some yeast, light funky hints and a rather dry finish. Medium-bodied.
