Oct 6, 2008 Bottled as Southampton Altbier, thanks LilBeerDoctor! Pours clear coppery amber with a lacy off-white head. Aroma of toffee, fruit, malt. Light body and full carbonation. Sweet nutty and figgy flavor with a bit of brown sugar. A somewhat floral finish (and possibly some rye) eventually catch up with the rest of that palate. Seems fairly well balanced, but some part of the equation doesn’t work so well for me. Maybe needs more body, less carbonation?

Oct 5, 2008 On tap at KSBF ’08 as Southampton Alt. Dark copper body with a small off-white head. Earthy, nutty with noticeable hops. Pretty good.

Sep 24, 2008 Pours a beige head and leaves lacing. Reddish brown clear body. Malty aroma. Like the guy before me, I wondered if the beer was fresh. Kind of sour taste. Very light hops in the middle. Kind of sweet aftertaste. Some fruitiness, but nothing distinct.

Sep 22, 2008 The freshness factor on this is highly questionable. Orange to copper pour with a medium off white head. Sweet malts on the nose and as well the dominate the flavor. Thin bodied and very bland.

Sep 18, 2008 Bottle from Premier, orangish color, decent off white foam, nose is sweet, dried fruit and bread basically, flavor is sweet malts, some bittering hops on the finish, ok beer.
