Commercial Description:
Southampton Trappist-style TRIPLE ale is our rendition of this classic, deceptively strong style of golden ale. Brewed with the highest respect for the tradition of the great Belgian Trappist brewers.

Deep yellow colour with a white head. Malty sweet aroma with floral and fruity notes. Sweet malty and fruity flavor with a light dry, sweet finish with floral notes.

RBESG08 grand tasting
Brewed by Saratoga. Very murky honey orange body. White head that went away a bit fast. Slightly fizzy. Pleasant sweetish malty nose, bit agrumey (orange). Good Tripel nose. Nice malty, persistently honeyish taste, lightly sourish, slightly lemony. Soft yeastiness. Orange again. Bit bready. Malty aftertaste. Mellow, tasty tripel.

RateBeer Rating, Style and Glass: 86, Abbel Tripel, Trappist or tulip ABV, Volume & Calories: 8 % in 22 fl oz. estimated at 400 C Purchased at: OakTree for $? Aroma: faint, banana, fruit, apple. 8 out of 10. Visuals: clear at first, golden color, brilliant, wispy white head, no lace. 3 out of 5. Taste: banana, apple, peach, chemicals, soap, average craft. 7 out of 10. Palate: round, juicy, quick finish. 3 out of 5. Overall: A lot like mass produced fruit juice. Not bad, but even hoegaarden is better. I would not seek it out again, it was not very well crafted, and was a fairly poor example of the style. 16 out of 20.

Bottled(1 pint or bigger). -RBESG2008, Grand Tasting
Cloudy yellow/golden coloured, medium sized white head that went away rapidly, fruity yeasty nose. Malty, yeasty and very spicy taste with light hoppy and floral notes. Some notes of apricot juice in the finish???

Better as it warmed. But not an overwhelming triple. A bit mellow. Bit of the traditional flavors. Ok overall.

Bottle 66cl @ home.
Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, moderate hoppy, citrus - lemon, spicy, moderate yeasty, sharp. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Very crisp and sharp. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (140508)
