| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 9, 2009 Aroma is very malty and roasty. Pours a dark copperish brown with tan head. Nice strong malt flavor dominates the palate at first, morphing into a sweet note that fades quickly. Not the most memorable Barleywine - but not the worst either. Could use some more hops. marchcow (664), Coralville, Iowa, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 5, 2009 Sweet malty and dried fruit aroma with a hoppy kick. Some honey and flowers. Dark reddish brown with a diminishing head. Sweet hoppy flavor, honey, caramel, rasin, drying and bitter balance on the finish. Earthiness with some cloves and cider like flavors. Palate is even, neither too thick nor too thin. Mild duration. Good. nuplastikk (1175), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 5, 2009 22oz bomber, aged a year in a dark closet. Murky amber brown color. Big liqueur like aroma, very nice. The carbonation had probably smoothed a touch, but the taste is still right on. Rich toffee notes, slightly piny and syrupy. You know this one packs a punch when you drink it, but the alcohol merges well with the other flavors. Great Barleywine, worth a try for enthusiasts. JB175 (1663), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 22, 2008 2007 bottle. Reddish amber color with a small-medium head. Aroma is mildly hoppy with some caramel and darker fruits. Flavor is hop dominant with some hefty, bready malts. Tasty, but average at best for what should be a top-tier barleywine. jimhilt (1674), Bow, New Hampshire, USA

Hazy amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Caramel nose. Flavor is caramel and some molasses and alcohol. $6.49 for a 22oz bottle from Manchester Wine and Liquors Manchester, CT. pinkzambia (989), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 21, 2008 Bottle: Cloudy brown color with a strong alcohol and cough syrup aroma with an added earthiness. Powerful to the taste. Sweet with a little alcohol burn. Very tasty and easily enjoyed. I could throw one of these back at least once a week in the evenings during the winter. patrick767 (2019), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 7, 2008 bottle Pours dark brown with a two finger head that leaves heavy lacing. It has a rich malt aroma with some dark fruit and oak. The flavor has big up front caramel malt sweetness blending into a substantial hops presence. There is a medium to full body and some of that 10 percent abv is apparent but not in a bad way. Good stuff. BMan1113VR (2815), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA
