May 6, 2008 Pours a real nice clear deep purple amber color with a tad bit of bubbly white head that leaves a film. Aroma is sweet caramel malts and hops which are a mix of grapefruit and pine. Flavor is a real nice smooth fruity taste - like sweet plums and real real dark cherries - then finishes an earthy oaky hoppiness with a warm alcohol finish. Overall, a real nice barleywine.

May 2, 2008 This barleywine pours a deep amber color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized beige foamy head. The aroma is caramel, dark fruit and earthy. A medium to full bodied barley wine. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are earthy. This BW is very much in the English style, malty sweet and earthy, with a touch of toffee at the finish. Nice balance. The carbonation is a touch low. Hides the alcohol very well. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with a hint of toffee.

May 1, 2008 Bottle from jsquire. Thanks, Jeff! Small tan head that mostly diminished, very little lacing, transparent, very little carbonation, and a reddish hue. Nose was malty, caramel, hoppy, dried fruit, and a hint of clove. The flavor was malt, caramel, hoppy, dried fruits, some bitterness, semi-sweet, some hints of the ABV. Fairly smooth mouthfeel and medium-full bodied. Very quaffable brew, nicely done, worthy of a try and I would drink this again.

May 1, 2008 $9 for a brown bomber. I think the label has a 12" subwoofer on it. Sweet and hoppy fragrance. Dark iced tea color., tea froth for a head. Strong pillaging high alky imperial beer impact on the palate. If there is carbonation, the shock on the tongue is too alarming for me to know it. Rape and plunder my mouth while roto-tilling across the back of my throat. Typical, nasty big barleywine character. Rude and crude to the last drop. Finish is unpleasant oily coating terrible. Yep, right on style.

Apr 29, 2008 Pours brown with a medium white head. Strong caramel and raisin aroma. Flavor has caramel, raisin, hops, orange, and a bit of brown sugar. ABV is apparent, but not overpowering. Finishes slightly syrupy. Good!

Apr 28, 2008 Hoppy & dry with very little sweetness to it. Pours a hazy, deep amber, almost ruby; with no head. The bitterness at the end rounds-out the taste perfectly. This is not a thick, syrupy barley wine (as some tend to be). Alcohol content’s completely hidden from the taste.

Apr 26, 2008 Bottle: pours a murky, orangish-brown with no head other than a very thin lacing around the rim of the snifter, aroma of caramel and dark fruits, taste is sweet, dry fruit and just a little syrupy. A nice barely wine.
